Very cosy historical house. Fully furnished. With free wine and cookies! Like a home away from home. Very quiet. Super friendly owner living next door.

The train passing at night could be an issue if you have light sleep. But otherwise it's super quiet.

Felt like a home. Lovely treats of chocolate and wine. Kitchen stocked in a very thoughtful way with all the basics. A lot of care has gone into decorating and providing what a traveler needs. The first place I've stayed with adequate hooks. Loads of towels. Older style house but very easy to relax in. Tons of space.

Do need to be aware you are close to the railway and main road but this is mentioned in the info.

Our expectations were exceeded in every way possible

Everything. Home away from home. Fully equipped. Warm and comfy. Good base to explore Southland/Otago. Wine, chocolates and biscuits an unexpected bonus.

The location was perfect for the work we were doing.

3 bedrooms and the whole house was what we needed.

The host has made good efforts to provide a homely atmosphere in a very old cottage. The beds were comfortable and had electric blankets.

This is just my personal opinion and personal preference-the house was not well heated, the toilet was practically an outside toilet and extremely cold. The bedrooms at the front were extremely cold. There were no power outlets in the bathroom. There were far too many power boards and extension cords attempting to power the various appliances in the rest of the house. The kitchen table had not been cleaned and there were still bits of food left and crumbs on the chairs at the table.
