Villa Cokelat

Staff were great. Pool was nice and big. Our shower head wasn’t working properly in one of the rooms and Ketut fixed it straight away. Laundry service was quick and efficient as well. Anything that was required, the staff were excellent.

At no fault of the staff or the owner, it’s in an area of Canggu that is being developed. Construction from nearby villas starts early in the morning and goes until 11pm during our stay. We were a travelling family with four kids and one being a baby so it wasn’t great. It’s also not a full service Villa with shuttles, daily room service etc, which is fine if you don’t mind.

Loved most things. Location a bit out of main part of Canggu but still lots of restaurants etc around.

The rooms were big, clean and comfortable. The pool was fabulous and clean. Susan and Katut were amazing hosts. Nothing was too much trouble.

The outside bathrooms were very hot. I have no doubt they would be fine in June, July and August when there is little humidity but not great for this time of year.

The location or the villa was not up to expectations. The villa is basically located in the middle of a construction site, work begins at 7am every morning, which is when we were all woken up with the noise and does not finish until 9pm. Furthermore, one morning we were advised at 10am there was some maintenance going on in the villa and we all had to vacate the premises for 2hours. I would not recommend staying here for at least 6 months until all of the villas around were finishing being built. On a positive the hosts were amazing, breakfast was cooked every morning and was very good.

We did not feel comfortable upon checking in. So we asked to changed hotel. They understood, were helpful, booking.com also facilitated a change to a new hotel for the next day. So we stayed one night. It was not the most peaceful sleep but nothing happened. Construction all around this property. Half built houses.
