Lovely little villa set up in the mountains. Lovely pool and views

Could have done with a more comfy seating area. The main “sofa” was a pull out bed. This meant that there was nowhere to sit and relax in the evenings except for at the tables.

Weird lay Out with a loo and shower room off the lounge. Oven is a metal box on a trolley, needs aircon in lounge. Kitchen very basic. Noisey shouting neighbours, and motorcycles every night.

We had a wonderful week at Casa Maddelina, having spent the previous week on the other side of the island. The gardens, pool and location of the villa are lovely, with spectacular views over the village of Carini and out over the sea. There is ample space to sit or sunbathe outside whether you want sunshine or shade. The layout of the villa is slightly odd but the. We realised it’s actually two separate accommodations - it took me a while to get my bearings! Having said that, the rooms were very spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean.

The Wi-Fi signal is absolutely dreadful. I don’t have data roaming (rest of the the family do so weren’t that bothered but I had to tether their hot spots to get any signal). You can literally only get a signal if you’re sat next to the router. The coffee machine doesn’t work, we ended up just using instant coffee after having spent a fortune on pods that we couldn’t use.

The property was amazing inside and out. Great pool, big rooms, loads of places to relax in the sun or shade. The view of mountains and coast were fantastic and we enjoyed them very much with wine and prosecco in the evenings, we even saw fireworks over the city.. We also had a couple of BBQs which were lovely. Alisea greeted us to access the property and was there exactly at the time she said and gave us our welcome information. It was very late at night but that was no problem. We ate in a lot to enjoy the wonderful setting and facilities. Shopping was very good value for money locally with fresh produce and a good selection of beer, wines etc. It was a good base to explore Carini, and Palermo with a car. It is not far from the airport. Mondello beach is not too far in a car also.

The location is convenient to airport but you definitely need a taxi or car to get up the hill from Carini center, unless you are super fit. It is steep and long even to the nearest supermarket. Taxis are expensive from the airport. We could only rent a car from the second day because we arrived after 11pm so needed a few taxi rides. A bit more advise or help would be good for guests about this. The drive is tricky in places but not bad compared to driving in Palermo. It is well worth the effort but I felt a bit anxious driving the steep narrow streets (probably just that I'm from Ireland also and we drive on the other side of the street). Also, not a major issue, but the coffee machine was very slow (I think it needed descaling), as it is important for many people to start the day with a great cup of coffee. Something like a sage espresso machine with some Italian beans would suit a property of this quality.

excellent place and facility

Villa is beautiful on the outside and the landscapes are amazing, we loved the pool, with small garden where we could chill out in the evenings, patio was perfect on warm evenings to enjoy family supper. The views were outstanding. The host was very kind and we were permitted for later checkout with no additional costs what was super helpful 😍

The interior was a little outdated, but it wasn’t a problem for us, we spend most of the time outside in the beautiful garden.

The view was exceptional, the outdoor area was great, the host Giuseppe was very attentive and helpful.

Pool is not heated. Air-conditioning in bedrooms only so the rest of the house is quite cold (we did visit in march, might be different in the summer).

Breathtakingly beautiful villa - old monastery but upgraded enough for comfort. Phenomenal views, well fitted, good amenities, lovely pool and outdoor area for relaxing. Great utensils and provisions for home cooking. Hosts were just wonderful - great communication, very responsive. Then they went over and above with recommendations and booking restaurants. Their help made the stay 100% better!

We were there in offseason and it was a little cold, colder in the villa that outside. In the summer this would be a positive but we found it a bit cold.

Quite a big house, great view, garden ideal for relaxing. Barbecue very practically positioned.

Traffic situation is not ideal - meaning if you want to go regularly to the coast or to Palermo, it’s a lot of driving on hilly roads
