Villa San José

Villa San José is situated in a peaceful and beautiful location. The communal areas are beautiful, comfortable and well equipped. Our bed was very comfortable and our window overlooked the inner yard, allowing us to wake up to the birds singing. The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The villa is within walking distance of Arequipa historic centre, but taking a taxi is also affordable option. Nearby is Yanahuara square with the views on Misti volcano. We throughly enjoyed our stay and would be happy to return!

Everything was perfect

The room was on the second floor of a lovely colonial house located in a safe and quiet neighborhood within walking distance of the center of Arequipa. We enjoyed the beautifully furnished and full of greenery common areas and comfortably equipped kitchen. We had free tea and coffee available as a compliment. The bed in the room was comfortable and the atmosphere cozy. The only slight inconvenience was that the bathroom, which was entirely at our disposal, had external access, although it was adjacent to the room. The lady owner was very nice and kind. Although her English was not at a great level, we got along well enough. There is parking available in the yard of the house. We had great time and are grateful for everything.

Excellent wifi. Lovely small private garden at the rear of the room. It's a private house with guest rooms on a residential street about 30 minutes walk from Plaza De Armas - fairly quiet area apart from random barking dogs. Some nice communal areas, especially the large, well-equipped kitchen. Washing machine was useful. The host booked us a cab to the airport - very helpful. It's good value for money when all things considered even though we wouldn't choose to stay again.

The room (Luanna) was on the ground floor a few yards from the front door of the house - it was noisy when other guests were entering or leaving the house. There was a coffee/tea station right outside our room so we got disturbed every time someone used it - much more practical to locate it somewhere else. The room was very cold (no heating) - the patio door was made of thin, loose glass and let cold drafts come in from the base as it didn't fit the frame properly. Small double bed - no duvet provided. No blackout curtains - the room was flooded with light from 6am. No free toiletries as advertised (2 x tiny bars of soap and a sliver of handwash), so bring your own. The bathroom had a loud, squeaky door and a dangerous slippy bath mat. Finally - the cleaning lady! We were surprised by loud music at 9.15am one morning - it was the cleaner playing the radio while she cleaned. When we came back at 4pm the radio was still blaring, as was the TV, and she still hadn't cleaned our room. We turned off the radio and the TV so she could focus on cleaning our room.

Flexible check in and check out. Very clean. Comfortable beds, free coffee and tea and nice people! Beautiful house.

Excellent facilities in the house and service couldn’t have been better - both the owner and Soelia were so helpful with everything and very genuinely caring. Lovely location as well - in a beautiful area of Arequipa by the river. Very highly recommended!

We absolutely loved our stay at Villa San José. We stayed five nights in total as we were so comfortable there. Bedrooms are spacious and very comfortable, and facilities in the house such as the kitchen are great, we felt right at home. The host was very kind and accommodating, letting us store bags during a trip and after check out. The house is about a 15-20 minute walk from the historic centre, but this did not matter as the suburb is such a lovely place to stay and explore. We would have stayed even longer if we could!!
