Manor House of Cheshunt- Historic Villa

Ignore the bad reviews. It's a stunning old property with lots of character. The single beds could do to be replaced, but we didn't stay in that room. Sure the house is haunted, but we'll be booking again

The hosting company are crappy when dealing with them. Never call you back when needed, don't respond.

No running water in the bath. No hot tub working. Not very clean

Nothing , filthy old decrepit furniture, springs coming through the bed, toilets and sinks, radiators coming away from the wall, stained carpets , absolutely disgraceful!!

Everything , we have been also bitten by bed lice , both myself and my wife have tiny lumps over our face etc , dirty washing left in washing machine, utensils stained and dirty, noisy boiler in main bedroom bathroom noisy all night , mattress leaning over the side, floorboards so loose that the dressing table bags against the wall. Had to send new pans as they were disgusting old and rusty. Head rest fell apart onto my mother’s head . Springs in the armchair has gone, ceiling paint peeling where they had a leak, furniture filthy. No welcome pack, toilet paper, washing up liquid, instructions. Wrong address on booking.com and wrong property name. Sink was blocked with food as the waste disposal was broken ( all apparently reported but ignored according to the cleaner and the handyman . I have never in my life had such a disgusting experience and therefore have never had a reason to give a bad review , I will be taking legal action. The only benefit is that we have left toilet paper etc from Our visit but I sincerely trust you heed this review warning and DO NOT BOOK THIS HOUSE , until they repair and install some love and pride back into this property.

Nothing it was falsely advertised it’s dirty and did not have the facilities advertised.

The hot tub that was advertised as available for use was empty and filthy. The house itself had not been appropriately cleaned. It was dirty, unkept, had bags of rubbish in the gardens, dirty cloths on sink, no toilet rolls and floors were so dirty our feet were black from walking around on them. The toilet downstairs moves when you sit on it. There were stains on the carpets. The furniture is all very poor in condition and mattresses are so old the springs poke through. The plates and glasses that are available are dirty so had to be washed. Also air operate who manage the property do not demonstrate good customer service as they ignored my messages about the state of the property and I am also convinced some of the other reviews left are fake to increase the rating. Not even an apology has been received. This property needs to be deep cleaned and if the hot tub is not available don’t advertise it as so as that was the reason we booked so we could have a property with a hot tub.

self catering property. Plenty of space and good location for our needs, good sized kitchen which is well equipped. The property was warm and plenty of hot water. Beds were comfy except the two single beds where the children slept.

some rooms were very dark. The furniture was all very old and falling apart. The chair in the lounge was very uncomfortable and near impossible to get up from. More comfortable seating would be appreciated. The property is old and has character and wouldn't take much to upgrade to a far better standard. The kitchen was one of it's good features but needed a good sort out! The dining area is so dark we had to light candles to see by. The joint bathroom upstairs had a timer on the light which gave insufficient time which at night was positively dangerous especially as there are steps down into the bathroom. The plumbing is noisy and all the floorboards creaked The ensuite bathroom is also very dark at night and the shower attachment over the bath is missing.

Clean. The facilities-rooms, toilets and kitchen were very clean Great kitchen and plenty of space within the house and premises

It’s a historic house, the floor boards will need to be checked, particularly in the master bedroom

No hot water and very poor response from owner. Incorrect description of bathrooms. Property poorly laid out over MANY levels, couldn’t sit together in sitting room. Not clean. Taps hanging off! Just awful!

the garden though the grass was very dry and patchy

where do I start , broken, leaking shower , which we couldn’t use throughout our stay , they lied and said they didn’t know about it , though the entire floor was soaked and it had gone through to downstairs near lighting, broken toilet seat, dirty floors, broken door handles , hair in the bath , pubic hair stuck to wall in shower room. shower pump went off every 27secs which lead to no sleep. damp smell in the house, everything was dusty, broken bed frames taped together with celotape everything was bought to their attention they had not intention of fixing anything as the cleaner told me they are fully aware of these damages and are not doing anything about it , which I recorded . shameful, poor, disgusting and unacceptable

The shower leaked all over the bathroom & through the ceiling onto the settee (clearly had done so for a good while). It is in need of some serious maintenance, a deep clean and some TLC. We also did not have the grounds to ourselves.
