"Beautiful villa with lovely pool"

We loved the villa. It had everything we needed and more. Lots of open air space and different living areas to relax . Very good kitchen if you needed it but with so many great cafes and restaurants walking distance we ate out. The pool area was fantastic and we spent a lot of time around the pool. The staff were very helpful and the villa and pool were cleaned daily. Each bedroom was lovely with a private bathroom. The beach is a short walk away. We would definitely book again

"Read before you book this villa. It can save your holiday"

Don’t stay at Villa Burung in Gili Air We booked Villa Burung for a week on Gili Air and it has by no means been the stay we have dreamed of or what we expected from their good score on Booking. Right from the start it went wrong we were not met by the staff at the port as they told they would. We then went to the villa ourselves where we were met by guests staying in the villa, despite the fact that we had agreed to check in early which the Villa Burung denies, but I have the confirmation on the messages here on booking. We were asked to leave the villa and come back two hours later and were still charged for early check in. When we arrived the safety box did not work and it was replaced later in the day with one that only worked sometimes. The villa Burung said that there was nothing wrong with the safety box. But when we left the villa one of the boys carried the safety box out of the villa. Sometimes when we got home to the villa, the staff was hanging out in the villa. One time we find one of the boys chilling with his feet up on one of the tables. In the garden there is a shed where the staff has equipment and one several occasions we could here the staff in the shed long after the “left” the villa. This kind of put a damper of us feeling private. It generally seemed like there is missing an adult/manager. On Tuesday the power went out and we wrote to the staff on WhatsApp and they quickly came on turned on the generator, but only to turn if of again after 50 min. They said it was the rule on the island and their company policy, but I talked to many other on the island that never heard of the rule. As I was sick I was short headed in my way to respond in the WhatsApp and said that I didn’t care about their company policy and that we were in general frustrated and I ask for a thorough cleaning of our room because the whole room smelled musty, even our clothes.

I have asthma and had to double my medication during our time in the villa and we often both wake up with headaches. Subsequently, I was informed by one of the villa's many managers that my health concerns should be addressed by medical professionals and not hospitality staff. After we moved to the new villa my asthma got much better within the next 24 hours. Villa Burungs response in the WhatsApp group did not lessen our dissatisfaction, as it was characterized by an abdication of responsibility and hiding behind company policy. They wrote: “We will come and clean the again tomorrow morning and will clean following our high standards and procedures, as we do every day” All in all, not a very good service we experienced, but they totally reject us and do not address the issues we experience, but hide behind company policy. And this morning they came to the villa and kicked us out because I’ve Said in the WhatsApp group out of frustration that I didn't Care about their Company policy. They gave us two hours to find another villa and move out. I have been sick for the last two days and the doctor was at the villa when the two hours was up and even then they insisted that we leave right away. ( I was so sick that I had to have IV drip 5 times over the next two days) We have travelled a lot in Indonesia and have always met overly kind people, but we have never experienced something like this and have never been kicked out anywhere. We were in total chok. When the management respons to this: they will say that I was hostile, disrespectful, aggressive, acted poorly and rude. Basically the worst person in the world, but this is apparently their way of handling criticism. The will also say that they didn't kick us out, but asked us to vacate the villa. Basically the same. We complained about the safe box on Saturday and about the power and mould smell on tuesday. Two complaint from friday to Wednesday.

"Loved the stay and can’t wait to come back"

The property was perfect for a group of friends traveling together. The staff were really friendly and helpful, making our stay comfortable and easy. The property offers two bikes and helped us organise an extra bike to explore the island. Close bike ride to the beach and restaurants

we loved everything. the only improvement I could suggest would be to have some extra blankets available for the beds as only sheets were available

Gave us everything we needed. Separate areas to chill out and also come together.

"Relaxing villa"

Courtyard area was very atmospheric with multiple places to hang out and chill. Nice pool. Location was fine for us. Slightly further away from the best beaches but as Gili Air is tiny nothing is much further away than a 20 minute walk. Staff were helpful and organized a snorkeling trip for us.

The property hasn’t aged well. Bedrooms smell a bit moldy and the bathrooms are very tired.
