Ama-Lurra Resort - Pool Villa

Wonderful location, lovely breakfast and cold drinks.

Facilities unclean, private pool very hot water and not refreshing. Air conditioning continuously cutting out.

Ama Lurra is located on a clean part of the island with the best sunset views. Room was spacious, thoughtfully designed and ultra private. We loved waking up to the delicious, organic breakfast spread on a private beach (eat for free till you’re full!) and coming home to our private pool. Staff were ever-ready to help and super friendly. Would book again in a heartbeat!

If I had to nitpick.. it’s located on the other end of the island from the port. So you’d have to walk about 20 minutes when you reach and rent an electric scooter to get around easier in the heat.

One of our worst hotel experiences. In fact, we were actually happy to leave. That’s what we did after one night (initially booked 3 nights) Note to the manager or whoever is responsible since nobody higher than staff was around neither caring: Your hotel feels extremely bad managed.. ! -We had to switch the villa twice as we arrived. I fed back some things to the reception which were dealt with directly through the very caring staff. The bedsheets are way past their best, invest in new ones. It wasnt that they didnt get cleaned properly they were just old, very very old. -Those villas are built with partly open walls so that moskitos and others are able to get into the room. Why? -Idk if keys were missing but you can’t lock your villa? Why? All this in a 5 star accomodation? Looks much better on pictures. Honest opinion, we would even name it a scam. It’s not what it (maybe) was the past years, it definitely got into the years. Barely any maintenance of the villas has taken place.

Beautiful rooms with private pool

The staff was amazing

Dirty, bird poo on the cushions outside. Very old furniture, broken shower, spider web everywhere, white towels were brown, no ironing the bedding. Everything was a disaster

Ideal location on the west side island to enjoy beautiful sunset. On-site restaurant was probably one of the best on the island. Seafood BBQ was delicious, and breakfasts were really good. Were able to hire a push bike directly out front to get around island easily. Staff were super friendly and helpful.

Air conditioning didn’t work very well so was quite warm overnight. The door to bathroom was very heavy and noisy to open and close, and at one point came off it’s runner completely.

We recently stayed at Ama Lurra in Gili Air. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make our stay truly special. In particular, Dani deserves a huge shoutout for his outstanding service. Dani was incredibly service-minded, always attentive to our needs, and consistently went out of his way to ensure we had a perfect experience. He was highly knowledgeable about Gili Air, offering fantastic recommendations and helping us with anything we required during our stay—whether it was organizing activities, arranging transport, or sharing insights about the island. He made us feel truly cared for, and his professionalism, warmth, and efficiency were top-tier. The entire team at Ama Lurra was wonderful, but Dani’s exceptional service truly made our stay unforgettable. If you’re looking for a place with superb hospitality and a team that genuinely cares about its guests, I highly recommend Ama Lurra. We can’t wait to return!
