Ama-Lurra Resort - Pool Villa

After exploring Gili Air we reckon AMA-Lurra is the finest place to stay: location; quiet and close to the west side and incredible sunsets. The villa with private pool was exceptional and so peaceful.

We liked everything so much we’re returning next year!

The public poolt was nice, breakfast was good from second day, first day we were just handed breakfast without option to choose.

Cleanliness was terrible, we had a villa where the swimmingpool did not work and was dirty, outside sitting area was dirty and not prepared(they cleaned the seating area later). There was a dead lizard just by the bed that had started to decompose, used band-aid in the shower and stained bedsheets and pillows. At night there was a power failure because of the faulty pool pump and we woke up because of no air conditioning, but we were lied to that it was all over the property while the receptionist worked on the computer and other villas had no issues. After complaining to the staff we were shown another villa that was cleaned before us, when we moved our stuff after the "cleaning" we were greated with even worse - the sheets were in horrible condition - big yellow stains all over the bed and pillows. Spider webs and dust on the bed frame, even worst than the first one, that shows that this is regular practise there. At first they offered us a CAKE for the compensation and refused to refund our stay. After the owner arrived the sheets were replaced and room was properly dusted, the refund was declined and were offer free dinner instead. The staff was sleepy and seemed like they do not know how to do things properly. Besides cleaning the restaurant food was average but things like when you order a food and ask tea for starter while we wait, the tea was brought after the first food, in the morning when we where in a hurry to diving tour we said that please bring what you can prepare fast as we are in a hurry - after 5 minutes the staff sat down for a 10min staff meating and then went to prepare the breakfast, it was 9 am, so people expect to get serviced that time. Hopefully the owner can address the issues to the staff as the place could be quite nice if properly looked after.

Great location, nice and quiet right on the beach. Staff super friendly. Great desserts 😬 Nice garden with pool great for small kids

Provision of mini bar not restocked, more thorough room cleaning needed during stay as young family so nappies etc in bin and restocking of water in mini bar

Staff is great. Villas are nice. And breakfast on the beach is a welcome touch. Like the eco focus.

Neighboring properties were better for shade and food midday. Not a lot of coverage on the beach. Bathroom is not air conditioned, which is not atypical, but can be uncomfortable.

The private pool and lights and night. Free water to top up our bottles. Daily clean up , amazing service. Welcome drinks we’re a nice touch.

They didn’t offer us free bikes to explore and their free snorkelling gear was substandard.
