Villa Barong

Lovely private house with a very nice pool. No inside spaces apart from the two bedrooms. Kitchen is completely open and not really workable.

Not at all good for families with small children the pool is not fenced off at all. Wasn’t appealing to think of making food there all the appliances were a bit worn or not functioning. No breakfast or ordering in service were offered so it’s a walk to the Main Street for coffee and meals. Also lots of options to eat and drink at resorts along the road.

The location and size of the property.

The water quality was a little concerning. There was a stagnant smell from the taps and shower. Could do with a slight refresh.

We stayed in the three bed villa ( only two of us) the bed was very comfy, had a chose of three bathrooms and a nice big pool. In door kitchen was great and the outside longe was very comfy and relaxing.

We would have liked the villas to be separated with a wall for more privacy as they are only separated with beautiful gardens. But we did find in candidasa that all villas we looked at are only separated by gardens.

Great location , pool was great , rooms clean , staff are freindly.

Not as private as I would have liked the staff area is just over some hedges from the villa pool. Water in shower smells like sewage.

A very quiet location with friendly staff

This was our 2nd stay at the villa. The location is perfect, the villa and the pool are great. The staff is very helpful and extreme friendly (they remembered us from our 1st visit). We were even invited for a ceremony held in one of their gardens which was a very interesting experience. The location is perfect for sightseeing the east coast of Bali, away from the crowds. A short walk to the main streeet of Candi Dasa with a Supermarket, ATM's and plenty of restaurants to choose from. Also in the same laneway an abundance of Warungs and Restaurants, the beach and lastly but not least, a temple overlooking the ocean right at the end of the laneway (about 30 minute walk from the villa).

On arrival we noticed a very strong smell and notified the staff. I must say they tried everything since they were sure it was a dead mouse in one of the ceilings. Unfortunately they were not able to fix the issue during our 4 night stay. Because we had the 3 bedroom villa, we just did not use one of the bedrooms and left the doors of the kitchen / dining area open all the time to air the area. We spend most of our time under the covered patio and the pool. For the inconvenience I was given a discount as compensation. What could be improved was the included breakfast (which we also mentioned at our first stay) In comparison with what we had on most of our villa stays elsewhere in Bali, it was very standard (but not bad enough to stop us for coming back)

Peaceful & relaxing place, everything to hand I needed and staff were so helpful and kind. Highly recommend.

I don’t stay long enough!

Excellent staff

The location was better than expected, close to shops and restaurants. Villa was a good size, nice gardens. Some good massage places on the streetand plenty of hotels close for dinner, breakfast etc.

It was quite dated with a bit of thought they could charge more by updating the bed, bedding, pillows, curtains etc. Bed was not very comfortable, 2 single douvets on a queen bed, not ideal. The outside furniture was very old. There wasn't much privacy as the on-site security were almost facing the villa and the next door villa just had a bit of greenery to separate it from ours, so when occupied noisy. Not really suitable for small children as the pool is very deep with no hand rail. At night it was very dark down the walkway with vertically no lighting in the area, I suggested a torch but they didn't understand, the walkway is also very muddy and flooded often. Both TV's did not work, I don't usually really watch TV on holiday but the weather was bad so would have been handy for it to be working.

The personal service we received from Nengah and Putu was delightful. They were so happy to help us with any questions we had about the property, the surrounding area and transport. We felt comfortable and welcomed.

Everything was as expected. Though the tv didn't work the wifi was strong enough for us to watch movies in the evening on our own device.
