Beautiful view, comfortable bed

Our stay had the potential to be 10/10. The cottage was lovely: comfortable beds, soft linens, and a bath positioned to enjoy sunsets over the ocean. The view was breathtaking. Unfortunately, we found it difficult to enjoy any of these features due to the relentless noise from a major construction site next door. The noise/heavy drilling began early every morning and lasted until 5 PM. Adding to the disruption, daily "controlled explosions" shook the entire house without adequate warning, leaving us on edge and dreading the next one. These explosions were startling and made it difficult to relax. We requested alternative accommodation and were offered the house next door, but it was far too large for two people. While it was slightly quieter indoors, the outdoor space remained unusable due to the noise. Also, the explosions could still be felt, so it offered little relief. Compounding the issues, the showers and bath in our cottage only provided lukewarm water, which turned colder each day until unusable. We were forced to shuttle between the two houses—escaping the noise or attempting to shower elsewhere. The issue was traced to a broken boiler, which was fixed the next day, but the constant stream of people addressing problems made relaxation impossible. We had chosen this cottage specifically for peace and quiet, planning to work remotely for the week. Ironically, it was louder than our flat in London, which sits on a main road! The host was kind and tried to help but didn’t fully grasp our disappointment. We were given a 15% refund, but it felt inadequate for the disruption we endured. The host also promised alternative accommodation for a future stay but has ignored contact from us after we left. This cottage simply should not be rented while such significant construction is ongoing. The owners should address this issue through their insurance rather than at the expense of paying guests.

The view was exceptional, the beds were very comfortable.

Perfect location with gorgeous views of the ocean from all sides (balcony, bedrooms, living rooms). Swimming pool overlooking the ocean was great fun for the kids as well.

Wonderful view, you can hear the waves all the time, host is very friendly and answered all our questions, place is very clean, full of everything you need.
