The house is a great size, pretty, fairly clean, and they did a good job decorating an interior that you could tell was dated. It has a fairly decent interior design that keeps it more modern. We loved the pool and the fact that it is near the airport didn't bother us, as we rarely heard any airplanes. The views are amazing!

If you are arriving at night (around 9pm or later) I would definintely bring dinner food with you. We didn't eat a real dinner and when we arrived, not one place nearby was open for us to purchase food or order uber eats, bolt etc. Nothing is really walking distance at night to find food and it was too dark to see. Although the host was nice enough to leave us some cookies, bananas & 1 small bottle of wine, we were very hungry. I think after our conversation we had the impression there would at least be some bread, cheese etc.., so we weren't worried, until we got there. We didn't end up eating until the afternoon next day. We didn't have a car, but since there are no sensor lights outside at night, it probably would have been too dark to try to drive out to Funchal city anyway to try to find a supermarket. Lastly the place was clean, I would just make sure the area is check for any dead roaches, as no one likes to clean that up.

The view is amazing.

we liked the location, pool, lounge was comfortable and was able to accommodate all of us. we enjoyed having study.

second family bedrooms are very substandard - not good when 2 paying families sharing cost. eg small, no plugs, no storage, no view etc. kitchen underequipped, there were only two pots induction compatible and one frying pan second bathroom damp, smelly, small w/ no window and low water pressure. only one garage key. microwave very difficult to use.
