1812 Caves 'n Mansion

Beautifully appointed rooms outside of the hubbub of Fira. Our family of 6 loved our stay at 1812 Caves n Mansion. The room was spacious with so many lovely touches to make it cozy. The ample outdoor patio space provides a wonderful place to relax after a day out and about. There is tremendous pride of ownership throughout the property. But what’s really special about this place is Efi, the hostess. She works hard to make sure her guests are comfortable and have what they need and always with a smile on her face. She made lemonade for us when we arrived and before we departed and special mountain tea when some of us were a bit sick. We had a basket of fruit waiting for us when we checked in and she served an endless breakfast (bread basket, made to order eggs, yogurt, fruit) each morning - we were so stuffed we didn’t need lunch. Karterados is a quaint and quiet village about a 20 minute walk from Fira. Alex and Efi can arrange reasonably priced transfers, or you can take the bus to Fira and walk. Wonderful value and would definitely recommend.

Lovely place to stay and excellent, friendly host who went above and beyond to help us enjoy our stay. They gave great recommendations for restaurants, and activities etc. The breakfast was always delicious and catered very well for allergies. Location is central to Karterados and a quick walk to the centre of the town. Also central location on the island, which was very useful.

Todo, el hotel es espectacular, cómodo, amplio, las habitaciones son hermosas. Lo mejor del lugar son los dueños, Alex y Efi son los mejores anfitriones del mundo, su amabilidad, calidez, acompañamiento hicieron de mi visita algo fenomenal. Me volvería alojar mil veces aquí.

This Facility truly defines hospitality. They even upgraded our rooms without extra payments☺️Mrs. Effie and Alex went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. The rooms were very comfortable and clean to a high standard. Breakfast was fantastic,delicious and well-prepared everyday. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and they were always smiling and helpful. You can really feel the care and attention they put into making guests happy.”
