Ambong Pool Villas - Private Pool

An epiphany awaiting here....in the design for jungle/beach location, never have I experienced such a warm Malaysian welcome in hospitality, privacy, respect and luxury as Ambong. Check in was conducted in our villa 8 Temayong, but prior to our arrival offered fresh fruit tea refreshments. Our chosen villa was exactly what we wanted. Spacious and comfortable. Everything working fine, including Aircon. We had separate breakfast kitchen with complimentary soft drinks including plenty of water. Big TV with pre loaded aps but no live TV. It took the UK electrical 3pin plug. Bathroom massive! 2 showers! Complimentary towels and liquids. Electronic safe. Housekeeping helped with everything, including the electric mozzie repellent. Pool and surroundings clean, tidy and safe. Pool access in private surroundings cool, but filter off at 10pm. Food and drinks can be served to the room. Villa on a steep incline, but shuttle service always available. Service from waiters/bar staff/concierge and all communication from help and advice to outside travel, to internal bookings, exemplary. Breakfast and dinner arrangements similar: Different menus on different themes. Try the local options, we really warmed to the Malaysian cuisine! Lovely fresh fruit on offer on all breakfast accompaniments, as was the pastries, cupcakes and toast with jam. We booked a cooking class with Chef Amin (mr250 , £43) in which you choose your 3 course meal, he runs through the ingredients and answers questions while you do his work for him! Fantastic experience, first time I've ever done something like that - thoroughly recommend. And then we come on to the jewel in the crown - nature and wildlife - which we were lucky enough to see. Staff will guide you, but we saw 2 different types of monkey, squirrel, hornbills, birds, dragon flies in abundance - as were the butterflies, and a kindy snake that decided to cut across us one day as we were heading back!

Pool in the villa and the view from it. Had nice deco done for my wife's birthday trip upon request. Clean villa.

We thought a lot of service touchpoints could be improved. Especially for the price point that for the villa we paid. Let me run it down our thoughts. Firstly, we kind of expect the TV to be functioning properly just like any villa/hotel room. It was not connected to the wifi and there isn't any live TV channels to it also. When staff came to try and rectify, it still couldn't work and was informed the staff expert on the tv went home already (thought a simple call to the technician would actually help). But somehow with some luck, only a certain period of the evening when we actually could use the TV for netflix. But the problem persisted back in the morning. Thankfully, our phone wifi could work though. Additionally, the only proper explanation given by the staff was when we went to breakfast the next morning informing us that there is a power outage nearby affecting nearby hotels. If anything, the guest should be informed prior of such outages so we can manage our expectations. Secondly, the staff had to come by and ring the bell three times after going into the room to give us the basket of fruits and also installing the mosquito coils and repellants. Fruits came in whole and not cut at all. We felt that it was a lazy way of serving us. We felt this could all be done before we got our rooms as it's quite disruptive to our stay. Thirdly, the pillow cover smelled musty like it wasn't dried properly after washing. Fourthly, we had our breakfast at the restaurant. But when we want to order, the staff could not explain properly on how the food was to be ordered. It became confusing but we carried on with the food ordering anyways, which came quite late. We assume she was a new staff. So we had to another staff to actually properly take our order. I ordered the nasi lemak and came w/o the sambal. I initially asked for the sambal but it took v long to come.

The staff are very very kind and friendly 😍 and supportive all the time for all our needs I fully recommend the break fast in the villa was amazing ❤️ me and my wife and daughter enjoy the place a lot

* The staff is super friendly and helpful . *The place is very nice , swimmpool is clean and u can see the beautiful sunset staight up from the Swimming pool . * facilities are good , everything was available from the kitchen to the room and everything. * the Breakfast is very poor for the value of the money we have paid . Not fresh not clean and smells bad , especially the Eggs !! . * for the Garden : becuse of the heat and humidity there is alot of cocroaches, musquetos and lizard . After the sunset it's never possible to set out side the room because it will be filled with all of insects. * for not monkeylovers, if you are there you expect alot of monkeys coming and stealing anything front of their eye's, food , drinks, your personal stauff, so you have to keep fridge and all doors all the time closed .
