"Very peaceful"

9.0

The cottages were lovely. So we're the grounds. Also, the garden centre they do some lovely breakfasts and lunches.

The bus. We got the bus to Eastbourne, and they cancelled it when we were coming back, so we had to get a cab after waiting two hours and then being told it had stopped running altogether.

"Lovely location but house without a soul."

6.0

The location was lovely. Really quiet and peaceful and plenty of fresh air. If you're looking for an escape from more city life it was wonderful. At night you could go out and see the stars properly. Lots of sheep grazing in the field behind the house and you could even sit outside in the evening and watch the bats flying around. The cottage was what we imagined, small and cozy. It was clean and you could really smell the vinegar used for cleaning, so you know it was recent. The playground in the middle of the houses was lovely and something for your children to play on and wonder about. We also liked taking a walk each morning around the area and fields. Need extra room for other section: We met one of the neighbours who is not a visitor but a permanent resident. They came up to us to warn us there is a dog that lives 2 houses down that has savagely attacked another little dog recently and ripped its throat. Thankfully the other dog is alive, and the "bad dog" now walks with a muzzle but not always. The neighbour warned us as we came with a little dog and a little child and said we need to keep an eye on them at all times because the other dog is a lurcher and very fast. So once we found that out we didn't feel very safe letting the dog out to wee by itself or just being out. We did see the other dog as its owner walked it around our house.

Unfortunately there were a number of things which have stopped us from coming back in the future or recommending a stay. The supplies left were so basic, I would say ever more than minimum. The soap and the washing liquid was watered down. The salt, pepper, and sugar are in little plastic packets that you would find in a cafe. There's nothing you can use to cook like spray oil or normal cooking oils. Even the milk left as a "welcome", it's just the ones you get from petrol station cafes that sit on the shelf. There was maybe a third of a paper towel roll and 2 rolls of toiler paper, one of which has mould on it. For goodness sake, when you pay hundreds of pounds for a few days in a cottage don't be so stingy that the owner or host cannot spend £10 of that charge on basics for guests. The wifi does NOT work. Do not put wifi on the ad if it does not work. You are given a pamphlet with the wifi and password, but the only wifi you can connect to is an open one for what I imagine is the whole location so it's not even protected. There is small print that says it may be intermittent - which is to say it doesn't work at all. And you are in a dead zone so there is no phone signal either. We've been able to connect maybe 2-3 times in the whole stay. Which also means the TV does not work most of the time, but was more reliable than the wifi. The device in the house is not a router, it's just a signal extender so you cannot reset anything. If you try and go to the main house, either the receptionist is not there or it takes a while to get help. There were no other pamphlets or a welcome book or anything left to see what is in the area. Not even a pen to fill out the pamphlet. No board games. A dvd player with no DVDs. No books. It didn't really feel friendly or welcoming like other cottages we've visited or AirB&Bs. It really was just the bare minimum.

"Family holiday which we enjoyed.but a few issues with the accommodation"

6.0

Good location

The toilet in the bathroom was really dirty.we had to clean human waste from under the seat. The double bed was well worn on one side. So hard to turn over. The swimming pool was hardly open.only open for a couple of hours on Saturday.when we Asked why they said they had guests.closed early on Sunday.
