Karleta Homestay

The family were really warm, welcoming and hospitable. I do not ride a scooter so they arranged a private driver (Mr Herry) for me to see the sights of Ruteng, the driver was also really lovely and I would recommend for people to use him if they do not ride a scooter and want to see the sights! I also had lunch in his home and met his family. They arranged for my bus to Bajawa to pick me up from the Homestay. The bed was really comfortable and I had a great nights sleep. Family dinners each night, the food was some of the best food I have had in Indonesia. Fast WiFi.

The host family is lovely and very welcoming. It was really nice to stay with a local family and share meals and conversations. Location is beautiful. Not very central in Ruteng, but for me that was a plus as it is more peaceful and the view is great.

The bathroom was very basic, but clean. Not really a problem.

The family is very friendly.

The room and toilet area is to basic and needs renovation badly. The 9 they have on booking is not deserted.

This is not ordinary accommodation. It’s a truly local experience with a local family. They welcomed us with a smile and they let us feel like part of the family. Facilities are basic but there are all the essentials: WiFi working well, comfy bed, (we had a private) bathroom with running water on toilet and a (cold) shower, a tasty meal prepared by the family. They speak good English and even the daughters do! The location is a bit outside the centre of the town and on a hill, but we liked walking around cheered by locals to watch the village life going on. We would definitely go back again. The family is super friendly and welcoming. We loved sharing their home cooked dinner and they were so helpful, they helped us rent a motorbike and arrange bus tickets.

This homestay was amazing!!! We got a chance to live like the locals, eat with the family, play cards and enjoy this beautiful city! I highly recommend this homestay when visiting ruteng:)

A real homestay. Basic, but Very nice owners, very good english spoken. Super friendly both parents and kids.
