"Close to being what it is intended to be but not the quality the listing would suggest."

7.0

Location good and layout inside

Check in, house in darkness, no access lighting from “car park”. Industrial fan heater provided for heating. “Bath Tub” not cleaned prior to arrival. No plug , stopper to allow use in any event. Should not be described as hot tub. Plain glass in front door, limiting privacy. Front door bowed allowing significant draught. Suggestion during stay we should not use gas central heating ?? Rather we should use industrial fan heater??

"Very good, relaxing and batteries recharged."

8.0

Location and view was stunning. Hot tub / bath was very relaxing. Decking area very relaxing Staff very friendly and helpful

No bin in bathroom (septic tank rules) Only one bath towel, Bathroom door needed maintenance and would require a redesign for privacy. Bedroom door required maintenance to close. Stable style front door fitted wrongly so did not work as expected.

"Absolutely beautiful"

10.0

The lodge was spotless when we arrived. The lodge itself has a really nice feel to it like it was our own for the few days we were staying. I’ve seen other reviews about the road and the hot tub not being a hot tub. I can definitely say the road is perfectly fine to drive down if you take your time and the hot tub was perfect for us. It was a hot tub and a very warm one at that!! We’ll definitely be back because to top off the beautiful cosy lodge and tub, the view is incredible. We loved the amount of nature we say like deers, hares and lots of calf’s running about in-front of us while we sat and took in the view.

We can’t fault it!

"Beautiful location and a quirky property :)"

8.0

The property is in a beautiful location and you can let the dogs out to wander around as there’s no traffic or people for miles. The property is very quirky and kitchen facilities are great. The double bed is very comfy and the whole place has a relaxing vibe -!we really enjoyed our stay.

The Hot Tub is a bath tub so it goes cold really quickly. I think the property definitely needs Wi-Fi as it is so remote there’s not a lot to do at night. The property does have a DVD player but no DVDs and a lot of people hardly keep DVDs anymore
I think the property would benefit from a TV in the bedroom or at least a more flexible TV stand to reposition the TV in the living room so you can watch from bed as the couch is a little cramped for 2 people. The bathroom door doesn’t shut properly. It would be nice if the whole property was fenced off completely to make sure dogs can’t get out.

"Cosy cabin stay in Baldastard Farm - we can’t wait to return for another little getaway."

8.0

Lively little cabin in the middle of a farm, very secluded and we really enjoyed having that privacy. The Cabin was very cosy and ideal for a winter getaway and for an extended honeymoon for us. The cabin had full kitchen facilities, toilet and living room area with bedroom with beautiful views from the decking area and bath. The idea of a bath outside is very good. As it gave it that ‘new and exciting’ element to try instead of it being a hot tub. The cabin was cosy and warm and very comfortable. Monty the owner is great and on hand at any time. Although I felt terrible messaging about a few things , he was very friendly and helpful and was able to assist. He even left us a bottle of Prosecco as we said we had booked here for our honeymoon. So thank you for that, that was very kind of you. The outside fire is amazing. Easy to light and loads of wood cut up ready to be used. We brought the new year in sitting in the decking area with the fire on watching the view and fireworks being lit off. The views are amazing. Something that I haven’t experienced before in Scotland. We know the area well, we visit Elie often. There we decided to choose this place as somewhere new to stay, and we can easily travel into near by areas for the day.

We had a lovely time here and really enjoyed our stay but there was a few things that we would like to share. We arrived late on our first day, which was our fault due to weather and working. We never expected to find that the Cabin was in the middle of a farm which requires driving down an uneven road, when we got there we realised there was no lights until actually at the property. Now, I take this as a good thing and a bad thing. There are spot lights for the decking area but going back and forth to the car my husband found this difficult as no proper lights. There are lanterns which were very nice to give, but maybe a few lights for the path would be great. The cabin has a septic tank. As soon as we arrived we ran the tap to fill the kettle and there was gurgling coming from the bathroom, my husband went to go see and there was water and bits of food in the shower tray. This was easily sorted by draining away the shower tray but it is just to be mindful to others staying here as we got a fright at first. The shower tray does fill up fast when taking a shower, just to be mindful incase stepping out. We had to call Monty our first morning due to the boiler being set to be on at all times. Monty was so helpful and quick at replying and even helped my husband put the boiler into its correct setting. Now my husband would have been able to do this however there are rules and notes not to touch the boiler etc so we didn’t want to without asking. There is a few rules of fines for over usage of gas and electricity, which I would like to know what is over usage as at times as I was questioning having a cup of coffee? With regards to the bath tub on the decking, we had to top it up as it was getting cold quick. But it was the end of December/January time, if here in summer this was would superb as you wouldn’t have had to top it up. Few little pointers but nothing to be concerned as we really enjoyed our stay and would return
