Ella Retreat Hotel Villa for Nature Lovers

We loved our time at Ella Retreat! Maybe our favourite place in Sri Lanka 😀 The cottage is beautiful and very connected to the nature, it felt very earthy yet luxurious. The staff were all so lovely and helpful, and were always there to help arrange a tuk tuk ride into town (and even to go to Little Adams Peak at 5am for sunrise!) or to give directions for a walk. We loved the yoga classes with the fantastic Ruwan and the cooking class. And thanks for helping to look after our baby, Manu! 🙏

The cottage is one of the best that we have stayed in.

Peaceful rural location surrounded by monkeys. Cottage was clean and comfortable. Staff were lovely, friendly and so helpful. Yoga class by the waterfall was a highlight.

A fan in the room would be nice but not essential

Everything was the best! Also local caretaker Kasun was such a lovely person that fulfilled anything we needed

The host and his family are extremely nice. They take care of everything you're asking for, they drive you anywhere for absolute honest and reasonable prices, and the breakfast was amazing.

The location is good if you really want a time out and enjoy nature as it is quite far from Ella and up the hill, so nothing if you want to be within or near the city. Also you must want the "jungle" experience as there are quite a lot of animals (insects, monkeys,...) which partly come into the room.

The cottage is beautifully built and so peaceful. The staff are so accommodating and friendly in every way. Yoga instruction is available at all times. Self-catering is possible, or the staff will prepare dinner if you do not want to head to town. It's really a beautiful place and a credit to those who bulit it.

Very little not to like, if glambing, nature, and adventure are your thing, you will be right at home here.
