Oamaru Harbour Nest

Cute, private little cottage at the right end of town. Not too far to drive to the centre of town and to talk around a score of interesting buildings. This little cottage was perfect for a good sleep, shower and cup of tea. A nice view out over the harbor.

The room is clean and tidy.

The space of restroom and kitchen is a bit small.

Awesome view, great shower pressure.

Being older the drive was a little steep to walk up but the view was worth it.

Wifi was very poor and needs an access point added. Wall heater needs to be installed as infra red heater was not suitable

The location was excellent with a superb view. We really enjoyed the local brew bar which was within walking distance. Very clean and comfortable.

The cottage was lovely, well positioned for a good view of the ocean and a wonderfully flowing bush outside. It had everything I needed including a choice of heating for what turned out to be a very cold evening. It would be lovely to return - particularly in the warm summer with glorious views of the old city, wharf and bay. It was also very quiet with a comfortable bed.

It may be that I missed the following information when I was booking. Google maps variously had the address (#49) located in the middle of the park, in the middle of the road and much later, on the right hand side of the road. New visitors should note that houses opposite the park are numbered sequentially (46,47,48,49, 50 etc). To walk from the road where I left my car up to the cottage (although not super far) took a little time, and I might only take one bag rather than two next time. I was a little concerned about my early morning departure, thinking that walking down the short walk down the driveway might be a little unsafe, were the surface to be icy for an early departure, but this did not happen. As it was, there was a good grip on the concrete. I imagine this would only be a problem in icy, wintry weather for more mature travellers. But all to say, did not take away from the rest of the good experience.
