The place was very quiet for a rest

Only loadshedding was a problem even though they had a backup but faded quickly since loadshedding took long

Staff were extremely friendly. The cabins are very private and well equipped. It felt like I had the whole property to myself when I visited but it's possible it gets busier. Internet and lights continue to work during load shedding.

This was the greatest holiday ever

Depending the unit you stay,at one of them you really hear the traffic on the R40, for the rest all perfect! 😃

Route 40 may not have the prettiest chalets but they’re certainly the most functional. The owners put a lot of thought into ensuring maximum comfort and convenience. The chalets have fixed and mobile solar lights, a solar fan, gas stove and gas geyser. They also have a borehole and provide safe drinking water so with all the water and electricity challenges facing the country, you’re guaranteed to still enjoy your stay. The area is peaceful and is brilliant for a quiet weekend away. We appreciated Beauty who welcomed us with a friendly smile and was available whenever we needed her assistance or had queries.

The gas geyser is a brilliant idea with all this load shedding but balancing the water temperature in the shower was a mission. Ants were a bit of a nuisance in the bedroom and bathroom

The host/staff was friendly and always there for helping when needed. Stay was just amazing and relaxed.
