Treur River Lodge

No breakfast taken nor ordered. What I liked was the peace and tranquility. Totally no noise, very peaceful.

NO HOT WATER. We could neither shower for the night nor for the morning. We had to wash at a facility near our final destination - a funeral. The basin in the bathroom did not have a plug. We could therefor not even use that. Tea and coffee supplied but no hot water . Gas stove , yellow enamel kettle and matches provided but no gas supply. We could not go outside because I WAS BITTEN BY THEIR DOG whilst offloading my suitcases. They did undertake to pay for the necessary injections of tetanus though. Invoice will be sent as soon as I receive it from the Doctor.

It was so nice to be in front of Bourke luck potholes I’m not having to drive back down. We were surrounded by nature. Our little lodges were so cute.

It was a bit difficult to have Wi-Fi connection late at night, but we’re also not there for action but for nature so that’s OK. We had an issue issue where we didn’t have hot water, but the staff was so friendly the next day it wasn’t really that bad.

Eine einfache aber saubere Unterkunft, die für eine Nacht völlig ausreichend war. Abendessen und Frühstück gab es im chubby pig, geschmacklich und preislich mehr als in Ordnung. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Restaurant bzw. die Unterkunft (es waren insgesamt 5 Hütten) lag am Treur River, eine Badestelle mit Steg und großen Schwimmreifen konnte mit genutzt werden. Das Restaurant war zum Ostermontag gut besucht, ab 18 Uhr kehrte die absolute Ruhe ein. Das Gelände ist nicht umzäunt oder irgendwie gesichert, wir haben uns aber nicht unwohl gefühlt. Im Zimmer gibt es nur einen Ventilator, ich denke, wenn es richtig heiß ist, reicht der nicht aus. Ein kleiner Wasserfall ist in direkter Nähe, perfekt für einen Abendspaziergang.

l'endroit est apaisant au bord de la rivière, bien situé. Pour enfant comme adulte, il y a un espace jeu et restaurant non loin si besoin.

Limited hot water and when we showered in the two hour window when hot water was supposed to be available it was cold. There was warm water in the sink at that time. Kitchenette was just a single propane burner with no sink to wash dishes. There was not a trash in the room, only a tiny bathroom trash was available. Road was a bit rough driving in, but it had been raining. Wifi does not work in the room and was quite slow at the restaurant. Toilet flushed poorly and bubbled randomly.
