Great Lodge set in a superb location, very comfortable, thoroughly enjoyed ourselves

The location couldn't have been beaten, it was absolutely beautiful and very convenient for our show at the Maes as well. The chalet was clean and very much as described. It had a pleasant family feel and was comfortable for two people. It was well-equipped and there were extra touches such as some games, shampoo and washing up liquid available. We loved seeing the wildlife: pheasants, rabbits and Canada Geese were roaming freely. It was very quiet and almost completely private so the only sound was birdsong. Builth is easy to navigate and the chalet was very easy to find. Directions were helpful in locating the actual chalet on the site. In warm weather, it must be stunning to wake up to those views of the river. The owner was kind and helpful in giving information. I'd consider another stay if I needed to be in Builth for any reason. The location made it easy to beat the queues to the show ground as well, though an early start might be sensible.

Whilst you could park two cars, the parking wasn't easy. Perhaps it might have been snug in the bedrooms for a larger group. The WiFi in mid-Wales isn't generally good, so don't expect to do work online in the chalet. The £200 cash deposit isn't needed at all so some of the information in the guest folder needs a little updating.

Location was great, right next to the river. The Lodge was not expensive.

The lodge feels tired and worn out. The beds were "tired" and the furniture worn. We gave up on the TV in the lounge, couldn't get it to work. The gas fire wouldn't work properly so we left it off and used the multiple electric heaters. The lodge was in general clean but there were bits missed, it was quite dirty in places. The shower fittings were rusty so didn't use the shower.

Fabulous location. Best site in the holiday park. River front location, very private, very comfortable. Had a wonderful stay.
