Beech, Country Chalet In Pegsdon

Comfortable bed. Good towels. Pub next door had pleasant staff and food. Good tea making facilities. Adequate shower.

Expected individual chalet on country estate. Turned out to be mini holiday camp. Site very tired and unkempt. Next to busy road.

Staff communication was top-notch. Seamless checkin/key pickup. Location is perfect for views of the hills and has everything you need really close by.

Ideal location on Icknield Way, comfy mattress and clean sheets, excellent shower, food available in adjacent pub. Good communication from hosts (not run by the pub). Pretty clean except cobwebs in corners. Right next to pub garden so can imagine it would be noisy on certain nights / times of year but not a Tuesday in April! Very friendly people running the pub who went out of their way to bring us a takeaway after their chef called in sick so there was no pub food. TV good with Netflix and other apps.

Only one pillow each and quite thin. Cereal boxes had not been left for us so we had to ask the pub. Cereal bowls were dusty and I brushed away several cobwebs from the ceiling above the bed. Towel rail was overly hot but we reported and it was fixed. Can hear traffic from the adjacent road.
