Kuaotunu Chalets

Gorgeous and so remote we couldn’t stop staring at the stars at night. Never seen anything quite like it

Drive leading to the chalet interesting but comes with the nature of how remote it is!

I had my own cabin (the Hofer). It felt like a little home and was very modern and clean. Lots of beautiful beaches within easy driving distance. You will need a car if staying here.

You do have to drive around a long driveway to access cabins. However, roads are well maintained and good signage. Would have liked a microwave considering there aren’t too many nearby restaurants.

Wifi

Not good at all for older people with bad knee, very steep stairs and driveway was blocked so had to walk up !!

From the drive into deep bush I was excited 😊 I got more than I expected. So quiet I barely spoke and listened to any noise apart from the native birds etc

Have to be a three night stay plus next time 🙌

The chalet was beautiful, perfect for our weekend away. Close to the beach but so private and sunny.

Absolute hidden gem. Facilities were awesome. The drive to the chalet was a bit of an adventure, however we mastered it by the time we left. Please don't change the driveway. I didn't get to meet the owners but we'd like to thank them on their beautiful chalet

Gorgeous views and location, extremely private, tranquil. Close to Kuaotunu village and other places like Whiti. So much attention to detail in the chalet, great that there was wifi (online it says in the blurb the bush chalet has no wifi, but we got fast starlink 4 bars at the bush chalet). Cute little walk to a waterfall.

It was amazing there was an air con, but the top floor really needed even a little plug in fan as the air con didn’t travel well upstairs. Extremely hot and muggy upstairs one night even with window open, had to sleep downstairs on couch due to heat. But that was the only downside, a fabulous place and location, would stay again

Fantastic location and wonderfully equipped cabin! Really clean and comfortable and had everything we needed.
