Otters didn't come!

Location excellent, unfortunately no otters, but to be expected with the storms

Communication. Due to the storms, our ferry was delayed. As soon as we realised we could not make it (07:30am) to the accommodation, I contacted the host (I thought if they had a guest in the same situation as us, they would appreciate they were ok to stay that night), to be greeted with complaining that I had woken her and her lie in had been spoiled! The accommodation was cold when we arrived (having battled through the very bad weather), it took ages to warm up. Extremely basic, so pleased we were only staying one night. No offer to give us a reduced rate for only being one (not two nights). The accommodation we had left, gave us the extra night at a very reduced rate. Not happy. I did contact the owner with my comments, not even acknowledged - says it all. Not the best last evening in the Outer Hebrides (thankfully our previous hosts were absolutely amazing - Ard Buidhe B&B.

Otter Bothy is perfectly equipped for a very comfortable stay. We wanted for nothing. The view is magical. Ducks and otters in the morning.

The property was a sublime location for views.

I feel like I was led to believe otters would be seen in vicinity. Understand no gusrantee but I was still disappointed +++. We arrived in stornoway and had a last minute idea to get supplies.... food etc. If we hadn't have done that we could've had NOTHING. There was no provisions left for us on arrival or warning that they are really in middle of nowhere. We needed to bring all our food and if we didn't it would've been the next day before we could've eaten. Doesn't take much to leave the basics for folks.
