Tiny Escapes Cradle Valley

We went with friends so we had to hire two separate tiny escapes as they are for couples only (except one property there which was already booked). We loved the concept and the location, though about 15 km from Cradle Mountain, it didn't take long to drive to Cradle Mountain. Overall the location is gorgeous - though the views depend on which tiny escape you book (some are better than others). Our friends tiny escape had sensational views, breathtaking, even! However, ours did not have the same quality views. Choose Dogwood or Myrtle. There was one other with the sensational views but can't recall its name. The tiny escapes have been tastefully appointed and the bed mattress was very comfortable. The layout of the open plan living area and kitchenette was well thought out and the sofa comfortable. Shower unit was small but perfect. Crockery good quality. They have provided an outdoor firepit and outdoor chairs, barbecue tongs too which was great. Overall the tiny escapes are super cute and a great concept but that is where it ended for us.

For groups of more than one couple the tiny escapes are not sufficiently well equipped. They are equipped with just the minimal items required for a couple. We weren't therefore able to invite our friends over for dinner or to share an outdoor barbecue with them as we had insufficient crockery. They were also far away from us and without a plan layout when you book you can't see where your tiny escape is located in comparison to others. I was I cannot lie in lieu of how much I paid disappointed by this stay. It was to be the highlight of our trip with our UK friends. We did however make the most of our stay and enjoyed the overall location. We also got to enjoy the views from our friends tiny escape too as we watched the sun go down with a glass of wine - special! The main issue for us however was the bed space in the roof cavity. It is smaller than it looks in the images. It simply is just not high or spacious enough. It is a TINY space. You have to clamber over the other person to get up and down the precipitously vertical steps to use the toilet at night as there is no room at all around the bed. It is also very claustrophobic and hot up there in the roof space, even with the veluxe window open and a small fan (which was noisy). There was little space between you and the ceiling. My husband bumped his head multiple times on the inside. One of our friends got so hot and uncomfortable he had to sleep on the sofa downstairs one night. Not ideal when you are paying so much. I doubt we're alone! The mattress was comfortable but the pillows were super bouncy (bring your favourite pillow). Lots of drawers but not many hooks to hang things. Fire pits were dangerously located re bush fire risk. We wouldn't have been so disappointed hadn't it been so expensive. Our friends tiny escape did enjoy stunning views and was worth the extra dollars, but the tiny escape we stayed in, with no special views as such, was overpriced we thought, sorry guys!

Wild but accessible location close to Cradle Mountain. Beautiful panorama across forested valleys, wallabies grazing nearby in evening.

Would love if the roof in the bed could have been a smidge higher and it was sketchy to turn the car around

Cozy and very functional cabin. Heating was great, kitchen was well equipped. Hot water was quickly and readily available from taps and shower. Felt like it was just us in that part of the forest even though there were other cabins in the surrounding areas.

The dryer was quite touchy had to go through two dry cycles for it to dry the clothes nothing bad though just had to do a couple more trips to the laundry mat then expected

Great location, not too far from Cradle Mountain National Park. We stayed in Blackjack. It was very close to the main gate, which we liked. The cabin itself was amazing, spacious, quiet, clean and comfortable, with nice views. The kitchen was fully equipped and the equipment was also clean, unlike other places we have stayed. We would definitely recommend it, and would love to return one day.

It was a bit cold. Although there was a fire burner, there was only one heater for a very large open plan living / dining area.

Quality accommodation and facilities. Serene and unique location. Open fire facilities.

Expensive. Loft bed not ideal but OK for 1 night.
