We had everything we needed and more! Dorris is finished to such a high standard throughout, with good quality towels and bedding that made us feel so comfortable and at home, in beautiful surroundings and there are loads of amazing pubs near by!

Doris is bigger inside than you think. The location is such that you are far enough to enjoy the tranquility but close enough to the car park / Hosts house should you need anything. The welcome cake / biscuit tasted amazing as did the cider. My wife and I, sat round an open fire at night under the stars with a cold drink - almost perfect.

On the bright sunny mornings, we woke to find Doris was covered with flies. Clearly they were enjoying the morning sun but meant i couldnt enjoy a morning tea outside - it looked really freaky.

it was self catering, and it was in a convenient location for us to break our journey. The bathroom was good, and very clean.. the cooking facilities were a little cramped. and the sik took up a lot of the space. it would improve things greatly if there was a board that fitted over the sink when it was not in use, which would give more worktop for preparing food

The steps up to the door of the hut were quite dangerous. one had to be very careful when negotiating them. It would be good if these were replaced with something safer the top of the bed mattress was about 3 ft 6" off the floor. I am short and a small step , stored under the bed would have been very handy.

Absolutely everything was wonderful - the hut is cute and simple but also luxurious and very well equipped. The location, gardens and countryside are beautiful. The vegan breakfast Jane made us was fantastic. Highly recommended.

Great peaceful location with good views. Outdoor seating a bonus,enjoyed the special touch of providing us with liquid refreshment and cake.Very clean and good quality throughout.

There was nothing to dislike

We had a wonderful stay at Doris for our wedding anniversary! The shepherds hut was beautifully decorated and had everything you needed, great little kitchenette, nice bathroom with a great shower, and really loved the raised bed area which was really cosy (and the bed was SO comfy, slept really well!) The hut is situated in a nice field/meadow in the farm which is quite private and we really enjoyed sitting outside by the hut and enjoying the outside space. We had breakfast one morning too which was excellent! My husband has a nut allergy which was catered for which was great. Jane was a great host and was always on hand with everything we needed. We had a great stay, this was a great base to explore the Somerset countryside and hoping we can come back in the future!

We enjoyed using the firepit in the evening (was great to sit out under the stars!) But hadn't realised when we booked that there is a £10 extra charge for logs for the firepit or to use the BBQ, it would be good if this was clearer in the property information/ at time of booking (we decided not to use the BBQ because of the cost of charcoal but could have brought some from home if we knew about this in advance)

Lovely shepherds hut in a small field with wild flowers, grassy paths and outdoor seating. Extremely comfortable bed, great shower room for a small space, welcome milk, traybake and cider. Lovely toiletries, hotel grade towels and bedding.

Nothing, everything was perfect!
