Dempster Cottage

Hosts were very accommodating and met us on arrival

Beautiful seculded family holiday (including the dog), felt like we had the place to ourselves. Was great to switch off and enjoy the pool, walking the estate, feeding the horses etc. Staff were all so welcoming.

The welcoming and friendliness we received from the caretaker. He was outstanding and he made us feel so at home. The location and the peace and quiet was wonderful. We also enjoyed the pool and it’s surroundings. Thank you.

The kitchen was far too small and pokey and not all windows could be opened. We also hated the overly bright and glaring “search light” in the bathroom and used our torches instead of turning on the light!

Dirty property. Pool was dirty and we couldn’t swim in it.

Location, birds, animals, trees, insulation and peace

The double bed was very soft, sagging in the middle, new mattress (harder)one would be a necessity

Location, country views and being able to view the stars away from city lights.

The shower in the spa was a bit awkward to use.

Wonderful location between Toodyay and Northam. Breakfast is not offered, so take your own, however fresh eggs were on offer in the kitchen. Small compact cosy cottage with all you need to sit back and relax. We played our Spotify music so reception was good and tv channels 2 and 3 are available. Air conditioning and electric blanket were great as it was a cold night. The highlight For us was sitting by the fire on the verandah and sharing a meal and a wine and the beautiful view in the peace and solitude of the bush.

Kitchen door could not be closed without latching the door from the inside. We had the fire going on the verandah which was smoking and that smoke went into the cottage but we could not close the door. The pillows very basic and not comfortable. I would suggest woollen pillows made in Australia a good option. I think the air conditioner filter may need a clean. Kitchen curtain also needs a wash.

Its such a pretty place, I can understand why someone would pick the area for a wedding. Very relaxing and not far to Northam and Toodyay. The airconditioning was nice and warm as it was cold. Also a fire pit outside on the verandah. The hot air balloons on the Sunday were huge, so many people attended.
