Peregrine Lodge - idillic Cornwall retreat

The kitchen and the living room was ok, but the bedroom’s were awful. We’ve booked for 5 nights, and I wanted to leave after the first night. The beds are very uncomfortable, the bedsheet was dirty, and the air was damp. I did not have a good night sleep in there. Very expensive for what it offers, complementary coffe and sugar was dried in the jar, probably hasn’t been touched for a very long time. I was not impressed at all.

The lodge location is great for exploring St austell and Polperro. The lodge is decorated nicely, and we enjoyed the outside balcony. Shower has good pressure, and the two twin beds were comfortable. Towels were very nice quality. Packs of cards, ping pong bats etc were a useful addition. Good price for the time of year.

The lodge has a dusty, mould like smell in the main bedroom. We noticed some areas of damp which was worrying as we were travelling with a newborn. The main bedroom bed was also incredibly uncomfortable, almost like a camping bed. The facilities could be improved. Coffee provided was stale and there was no milk, where we would expect tea, coffee, sugar and a small pint of milk on arrival. The glasses under the sink were not cleaned well.
