It’s not a chalet but a converted garage, the bed is a mattress on wooden pallets, there are curtains but no nets and therefore no privacy as the hosts cctv points at the entrance door. We had to put our toiletries on the ledge near the floor as they only installed a small cabinet above the sink. There’s a very big cat flap in the kitchen area covered by a mat. Vehicle headlights light up the sleeping / lounge area when driving past at night. The sofa is wooden with very little comfort and caused back ache when sitting in it. The hosts state there are river, garden and Mountain View’s, the river can be heard but not seen, the Mountain View, according to the host is the bank at the back of the stoned area he claims is a garden, the garden view has a great view of the cesspit. The write up states there’s a washing and dryer available for use and then have a note asking for a donation of £2 per unit per use.

We would have liked a coffee table and some comfier seating in the cosy area.

Lovely comfortable bed and the accommodation was very clean . There was a washing machine as well although we didn’t use it. Milk was in the fridge for us.

A bread knife would have been handy .

Well thought out with everything required ie kitchen was well equipped, leaflets about local attractions were provided, books, Netflix access, instructions for all amenities accessible on Alexa etc. Very clean and little heaters made the accommodation very cosy. Nice to have a dining table and chairs to eat at too.

The bed and the little sofa weren't very comfortable. Access to more pillows would have helped. There was nowhere to hang towels. Damp smell in accommodation could be quite strong at times. The road next to the accommodation was very busy and could therefore be quite noisy. However for the cost, this was still good value for money.

We really enjoyed the property as the location was great, it was exceptionally clean and the hosts were super friendly. Surprisingly comfortable bed and water from a well (bonus!) Free streaming service and wifi. There was an Alexa in the property and that was great too. We were able to do stargazing at night and the forest was so quiet and magical.

Location great for walks from the doorstep. Everything you would need at the property for a short break

Road noise. Busy road outside the property. Traffic was on the move early and late at night. The bedroom faces onto the road.

Cute accomodation next to the Yair Forest. A good base for exploring the Tweed Valley.
