There wasn't really anything to like about the property in all honesty.

Everything.. where do I start.. No privacy (camera pointing from the adjacent property directly at the bedroom, also they've a bare window pointing straight on to the chalet) Substantially not as pictured or described, not pet friendly as the entire fence on images is missing, leading straight on to a main road the A707. Lack of cleanliness dirty kitchen ware, strong stench throughout the entire property, from the toilet macerator. Stains to ceilings and bathroom /cobwebs & spiders Broken tv unit (insert screenshot of msg) States free use of washing machine ans dryer. However, on top of the dryer they expect £2 per programme each. (Insert picture) Only one side of the toaster works After a shower the floor remains wet afterwards (was still wet 24hrs later) General damp throughout (pulled clothed out Friday for the Saturday and they ended up damp) Mould spores on one of the doors. You can smell mould/damp when you come in. Also on the two bits of laminate paper cards, on rear side was questions to ask alexa, and also if the hot water went off to ask alexa, after we turned alexa off (Raphael appeared, baring in mind we'd been here a little while without seeing either host, we thought this was a little bit on the suss side) Damp in the air was causing my partners asthma to have a field day Was provided used shampoo, conditioner & shower gel (with very little left). Also charging £15 per night per pet.. absolutely absurd.

What a super wee hoose in a fabulous location, we loved it! Very comfy bed, quality furnishings, and stunning walks from the doorstep. We had no transport, but New Border Taxis did us proud.

The location! Yairbrig is situated near access points to the Southern Upland Way, ideally if you want to do some walking. It is also located with easy access to both Selkirk and Galashiels, perfect for exploring either town. We used it as a base to head out and see some of the castles and towers in the area that we haven't managed to get to before.

It is set up as a semi-smart home, with the pump for the hot water operated by Alexa. Unfortunately, the Internet was so poor that this simply didn't work, at all, our whole stay. All we would get is a message saying she couldn't do that because of not having an Internet signal. This meant we had to have cold, dribbly showers, and boil the kettle to wash up. Not what you want after you have been out exploring in the rain all day. This impacted the TV, too, but we didn't mind this so much having brought things to read. The poor Internet impacted our planning itineraries each day until we realised if we walked up to the nearby carpark, we could get enough signal to use Goggle maps! Unfortunately, we couldn't bring the Alexa up there!

Excellent location for walks and enjoying the glorious countryside. Very peaceful. Surprisingly warm overnight even in February.

Bed and sofa a tad uncomfortable but fine. Would have preferred a printed guide rather than relying on asking Alexa.

Lovely quiet location. Property had everything we needed and was very clean. The milk in the fridge, slippers and dressing gowns were a nice touch. We enjoyed our weekend and would recommend it to others.

Very clean. Water in kitchen red hot. Very cosy little place. Ideal for exploring around the area. Decent sized tv with Netflix and Amazon. Alexa with access to music and set up to answer basic questions. Hosts very friendly and welcoming. Super quiet. Bed was very comfy and cosy. Clothes airer was handy. Owners have maximised space and it was well set up. Internet was much faster than expected and reliable.

Be aware... take change owners ask for £2 for each use of washing machine or tumble dryer. We stayed over New Years and it was stormy and window was a little drafty. Cooker hood had obv been used for someone cooking bacon. When we turned it on it reeked and in a small place it was overbearing. Not owners fault at all. Theres a cat flap in one set of doors that lets draft in.... it was covered over with a mat but did not stop drafts. Kitchen utensils were sparce making food prep hard. This was an issue for us! There is a microwave but nothing to put in it as what was there was not micro safe. We left a whisk and jug behind. For short stays where you eat out it would not be an issue as you could get breakfast ok.
