Tidal House #4 - Ocean Shores Chalet

It was a great size for two people, very quiet and comfortable

The unit was great! Well furnished, great location. The maintenance guy, Grayson was incredibly helpful and very friendly.

The only suggestions would be some kitchen items, maybe aluminum foil, plastic wrap.

Bathtub was slippery - need tub mat. Could not maintain constant temperature on tub faucet. Bathroom sink faucet did not direct spray properly. Steps were steep.

The location was perfect. It was within walking distance of everything, including the beach.

There was nothing I didn't like. Completely enjoyed my time there.

The location in town was nice, they were close to gift shops and restaurants and this really great mini donut and coffee stand called Kookamunga’s.

First of all the couch in the house we stayed in smelled like probably dog pee. It was a pretty strong odor that you could pick up on as soon as you entered the place. The house also boasted that it was just a short walk from the beach but unless you are a deer or maybe wear head to toe protective clothing, you cannot reach the beach from the overgrown trails around the Tidal Houses. And even after 15 minutes of trying to fight our way through brush and brambles with our two small children ,we could still not see the ocean and gave up on trying to reach the beach by foot which was disappointing. Also, they do warn you that the stairs in the house are steep and it is true. The stairs are extremely steep! So steep that I had to turn my body cockeyed just to get down them and I’m only 5’5”. For my husband who’s 6ft it was almost like climbing a ladder and I would not recommend these houses for small children for that reason. My son is great with stairs but these ones really put me on edge whenever he was on them. Lastly and this is a small thing but the bed in our room didn’t have an actual fitted sheet on it. It was just another top sheet covering the mattress. This normally wouldn’t be a notable annoyance but combined with all the other disappointing details it was kinda the cherry on top. Overall I can tell you, my family and I will not be staying at these houses again.

Not very clean, no wash clothes, no iron or ironing board as most places would have. Hot water heater needs either turned up or replaced. Hot water was gone after 15 minutes
