Super close to everything. Nice privacy for a family. Super clean perfect for a beach vacation.

I got eaten alive by mosquitos when we tried to use the beach trail that's recommended. We barely started the trail and it had our whole family running back to the chalet covered in bugs. Also stairs in the chalet are not friendly to young kids or old dogs.

Location was good.

The floors,dishes,counters and dish towels were dirty. The door code we were given did not work and had to text and wait to receive new code. The place smelled like pet urine.

It was nice.

The sofa and kitchen could have been cleaner.

Stayed in unit #4 - it seems to be one of the more updated units. Better than I expected but only ok. Our unit had all laminate floors (which is nice). Appliances are newer, bed frame and small dining table & chairs are new. The unit was clean. The bed loft situation is fine. I didn't expect the stairs to be so steep (that isn't mentioned anywhere in the listing) but I knew there wouldn't be any privacy. It's run like an Air BnB - no contact except via email/text. No ridiculous check out requests, just wash the dishes.

The steep stairs to the bed loft are painted black & there aren't any lights on them. It was scary going down them in the middle of the night. They definitely need lights or light colored traction pads. Fireplaces don't work in any of the units which is disappointing. The mattress was worn out & lumpy. Sofa bed was well worn and very very dirty. It is SO hot upstairs in the bed loft - In November, high of 58 degrees (F) and we didn't even have the heat turned up and it was easily 75(F) in the loft. I can't imagine how hot it would be in the summer. There are only 2 windows that open - one downstairs, another in the loft with a door to the patio. Loft window/door faces the parking lot, road & the other units, so it's loud. Cannot tell how to turn the heaters off. They were either on high or low as far as I could tell. Better marking on them would be helpful. No management on site.

This is such a hard review to write because we really loved staying at the Tidal House. It was incredibly clean, thoughtfully stocked with everything we could need and the location was exceptional!

We were thrilled our unit offered a pull out bed, but upon folding it out and setting it up, it was absolutely not suitable to be slept on for anyone. The bars were bent and you continually rolled to the middle. We actually had to turn our pillows around and sleep with our feet where the head should have been because it slopes so horribly. We tried in vain for an hour to make it work, but finally stripped the sheets off, folded it back up and resolved ourselves to the fact that we would have to sit up on the couch to sleep that night. It was a tear filled night, frustrating night, that’s for sure! We had 2 bites booked, but in the end we came home a day early because we had no place to sleep for the 2nd night. It was so disappointing because we really loved the little Chalet. We would hopefully love to get back and choose a different Tidal House in the future.
