As there is no reception at this property you are supposed to get all your details sent through before hand however I didn't get this until 6 hours after check in so was told by some staff member on the door which felt very sketchy. Also none of the lockers in the rooms worked so I didn't feel very safe. The rooms were also very small and the stairs up to the room were so steep so even with my very small backpack it was a struggle. I ended up leaving early and stayed in another hotel as I felt very unsafe in this place.

Beautiful place with amazing view of Salzburg. Going down to the town is an experience in itself. Lots of helpful instructions received in a timely fashion. Staff very nice.

We arrived late and had some difficulty figuring out how to open the main door. That is because there is an additional box with keys next to the main entrance that confused us. All we had to do was stick to the instructions for the keypad on the main door. But arriving at the middle of the night, while snowing, can be intimidating. Also, we had a super, super, helpful taxi driver that went out of his way to bring us as close to the place as possible (brought us up to the museum, which is like 200 meters from the hotel's entrance). The taxi driver needs a special key card to open a road-bar and bring us that close. Some taxi drivers refuse (happened 2 years ago) and you can be left scrambling on how to get up. You can be dropped off either in the city center bellow and need to find the stairs to go up, or way off before the museum (in the park/reserve) and need to follow the winding road to the hotel. It's not that difficult if you have done your research and use GPS/maps on your phone. But no transportation will bring you to the entrance. Again, the experience itself is well worth it if you have done your research. But would not recommend for very old people, especially if with suitcases and in the middle of the night. Best leave heavy suitcases at special baggage storage areas at the train station anyway. During the day can also use the museum lift, and you arrive at where the taxi will bring you anyway. Having said all this, I would definitely stay there again.

I enjoyed the location, the view, the grounds and the food. The staff were friendly. I felt comfortable being there.

It could be pretty noisy but it would not deter me from staying there again. Everyrhing else makes up for it.
