Showers didn’t work- drains not working. No mention of elevator at museum. Had to ask for towels

I choose Stadtalm because of the position on the mountain and of the affordable price. As I am interested in historical buildings, it was a pretty interesting experience with a lot of compromises from my part. Staying objective in my low evaluation of Stadtalm I say only this: transforming this tiny building from 1050 in what we see today is a piece of "art".

No towels available! The entire week was cloudy, a bit cold and rainy. Although they have a restaurant room and a cosy covered terrace at the back of the restaurant, "the boss" of this business decided not to put it for the use of the guests, which is far away from hospitality and good service for the guests. Having a bed in the 6-beds-room (which, by the way should be for max. 4-beds due to the lack of air and tiny dimension) it was impossible to spend time there after 6 p.m. as the stuff is going home and the restaurant room is closed for the guests. On the other hand, in the 2nd floor no internet and no phone connections are possible. Bad weather .... no room to socialize .... too cold for staying outdoor on the terrace .... so .... just think about it ... Taking a shower is also a bad joke, as the water stops after few seconds, so you have to push the button all the time instead to use the time for taking the shower. And no towels available is an ugly surprise, never expercienced this in 15 years of traveling through Austrian and other hostels in the world. And ... you get a PIN code for the room, but what to do with it if the room lock is not working. Asking Robert from service to help with solving the internet and lock problem in the 2nd floor the reply was: "I don't know, I am only responsible for the restaurant." So, Mr. Boss please check these issues and rethink a bit the strategy as well as the portions. A salad for 17 euro as main meal may not be so small. Never had such an experience in Austria before (living here for the last 12 years). Breakfast: only 2 pieces of bread for 2 slices of Schinken, 2 slices of cheese, some butter and a tiny box of marmalade. How can you share all these on only 2 slices of bread I wonder .... Put the Schinken and cheese on one single slice of bread?! Pls check the quality of the "hot chocolate" - it was only thin milk with a bit of cacao, no taste of chocolate or cacao.
