Jacky's Guesthouse

Excellent séjour ! La chambre était propre, confortable et bien équipée. Le personnel a été très accueillant et toujours prêt à aider. L'emplacement est idéal pour visiter la ville et les environs. J'ai particulièrement apprécié l'ambiance calme et la qualité du service. Je recommande sans hésiter et je reviendrai avec plaisir.

Our stay at Jacky’s was absolutely fantastic! The accommodation is spacious, comfortable and couldn’t have a better location (be ready for the best sunrises with a straight view to some of the most beautiful rice fields in the world). The hosts really made the whole difference ; they cooked us delicious meal with fresh red rice from the village and got us smoothly to and from the Honghe train station. They were kind, caring, and prepared everything details of our hikes through the rice terraces and villages (including the mushroom village). The family was so kind and generous, and their pets made the stay even homier. I couldnt recommend more the region for an authentic experience, and the guesthouse for a great stay!

An authentic, friendly, and welcoming guesthouse, located in the heart of the Duoyishu village, surrounded by lush nature and run by Jacky, a very kind and helpful host. The two rooms we stayed in offered an interesting insight into the lives of the Hani people, and provided great views of the rice paddies, sometimes shimmering in the rising mist, sometimes sparkling in the light of the sunrise. Our children loved chasing the chicken, playing with the dog, and trying to befriend the cat. We enjoyed Jacky's cooking, his advice on places to see, and the friendly and laid-back atmosphere of the place, which made it easy to connect with fellow travellers. It felt like being with family!

Notre hôte a été très disponible et a facilité toutes nos réservations. Le point fort absolu: nous avons reçu un petit dessin pour accéder à une pagode (avec coucher de soleil) et surtout une explication avec photos pour une balade de 3h dans les rizières Nos hôtes étaient très gentils et attentionnés, nous ont continuellement offert tous types de fruits Il y a un rooftop pour regarder le lever de soleil, et l’hôtel est à 2 pas de la plateforme pour voir le lever de soleil directement dans la ville Le restaurant est très bon Le chat et le chien sont adorables La chambre était bien

Notre chambre donnait sur l'arrière de l'établissement ; nous n'avions pas la vue sur les rizières mais elle était très fraiche (il faisait déjà chaud en ce mois d'avril), donnait sur le ruisseau et un petit bois. Comme elle est équipée de grandes fenêtres on aurait cru être dans une cabane dans les arbres ; c'était très agréable, calme et tranquille. On pouvait par ailleurs admirer les rizières de la terrasse sur le toit. Les repas de l'auberge sont assez simples, ce n'est pas un restaurant à proprement parler mais les repas sont tout à fait corrects et dépannent vraiment bien quand on arrive assez tard ou après une journée de promenade où l'on n'a pas envie de "ressortir". Pour tous les moments ou activités où nous avions besoin d'aide tels que arrivée ou départ en transport en commun, balade en voiture dans toute la zone des rizières en voiture privée, machine à laver ou autre (j'ai été malade et Jacky m'a proposé gratuitement des médicaments) Jacky est toujours disponible, réactif, plein de ressources et souriant. La salle d'accueil de l'auberge est à son image, organisée pour faciliter rencontres et échanges entre les hôtes du jour. C'est vraiment un lieu sympa et unique.

Goede locatie met sommige kamers een prachtig uitzicht, natuurlijk wel afhankelijk van het weer, ik had 1 dag regen en mist. Prima keuze qua eten. Jacky is waarschijnlijk de enigste in het dorp de Engels spreekt, wel zo makkelijk.

Als het wat frisser is helpt de verwarming op de kamer niet echt.

The view and the atmosphere from the room were truly exceptional. And Jacky's really helpful with everything, including honestly priced day tours - and it helps that he's travelled around the world!

Our room with a view was in an annex that is quite far from the main building, where the office, breakfast place and parking was located. Jacky's help with the suitcases is definitely needed going to and from your room!
