Foxglove Lodge with Hot Tub

beautifully appointed private a true home from home

sunken hot tub harder to climb into for older people

large living area for all of us to spread out with a great outdoor veranda with hot tub

only had one bathroom out of two which made things difficult for us having to share a shower. reported it on the first day and there was no urgency to fix it. in fact they didn’t bother at all to fix it so had only one bathroom for 4 nights

it was such a clean lodge, we absolutely loved our stay here, we had absolutely no issues or complaints it was amazing, will definitely be back

Lovely facilities in the lodge, very clean!

The location was easy to find, check in was stemless and easy. the property itself was spotlessly clean, well laid out, had everything you needed for a stay like ‘home-from-home’. We took essentials such as dish cloth and washing up liquid along with toilet rolls and actually these were provided. The location was good for a bit of peace and quiet, JJ’s on-site restaurant was excellent and a 1 minute walk away. there were a couple of pubs locally (short drive) and the lakeland water sports park nearby (3 minute drive) with activities such as kayaking/inflatables/paddle boarding etc and a KFC a 5 minute drive away too. the Yorkshire Air Museum was 25 minute drive away. The Hot tub was fabulous and well maintained. The park was quiet at night and we were fortunate to have respectful neighbours. Netflix and Amazon were also available.

it didn’t affect our stay, but the second shower in the en suite had a fault, which meant we all shared the same shower - otherwise the only downside was a slightly earlier awakening than expected from groundsmen cutting grass at 8:45am. The grounds were immaculate, and this is probably why, they work hard but when on holiday and all that….

Don't get me wrong the lodge itself was nicely furnished but that's irrelevant when the customer service is non existent.

When you check ahead of your stay to make sure they have facilities for your 10 month old baby you expect them to be there. I had asked if there was a high chair we could use (otherwise we would've bought our own), I was assured prior to our stay that there would be one. When I called reception for help I was told "the system says it's there" and that there was nothing they could do to help as they are not the owners. No apology, no solution, just want seemed like a robot repeating that although they were infact a reception, and it's their number provided on the booking they couldn't help me. Absolutely ludicrous. I came across another lady on our stay who said she couldn't get her hot tub to work and guess what, she had the same problem, the reception couldn't help. Not sure what this particular reception is for. Especially when you've paid quite a lot to stay there. Shame that our hot tub was filthy too.
