"Ottendorfer Hütte" - Bergwirtschaft

4 adults shared a room with alpine bunks. We booked the bed linen as we were walking the Malerweg and didn't fancy carrying a sleeping bag. Bea was in touch with regards to where they were, which room and about breakfast. Also told to bring 50 cents each for the 5 minute shower which was really helpful! Other guests arrived after we had and one male had a shock entering the women's shower area. No locks on the door but I don't think it would normally be an issue - the staff were on a rest day. Bea was helpful with directions to and from the Malerweg and with dinner suggestions as their kitchen was closed.

May be a lock on the shower rooms? Wasn't a real problem.

Beds could have been more comfortable.

It’s located in a beautiful village which is a nice spot to start your hike!

Breakfast was great, location amazing (although quite the walk from end of Malerweg stage). I think the beds were actually comfortable.

Only one shower, rooms are very noisy (so need to be a bit lucky with your neighbours). Restaurant was closed (I guess always on Wednesdays), but the host did inform us the day before.

We booked last minute and ended up arriving on foot in a huge rain storm to find no bedding and that no food would be served that night. I called the owners and they were amazing, coming out to give us bedding and to cook food specially for us. This is a great place to feel like you are in a real mountain hut while hiking in the Saxon Switzerland national park.

The communication about bedding and food only arrived at 10am on the day of our arrival. We were already hiking this point so didn’t find out there would be no food available until it was already too late. Be sure to check details before you leave.
