Gerry `s Backpacker

The owner Gerry and his wife were an absolute pleasure to stay with. They were both really friendly, dignified, and inviting people and made the check in process not only an easeful one, but a rather enjoyable one also. They've both clearly put a lot of thought and ambition into their property, even making each room match a specific "theme" or ambience which was a lovely touch, I thought. All of the bedding was clean, the facilities were tidy, and to be truly honest, I was surprised to feel right at home here.

I really don't have any negative comments to provide, they are clearly dedicated to maintaining their property as well as they have been doing. Keep it up! :) I will certainly be staying here again whenever I make a return to Konstanz, I thank you both for your kind custom.

The manager was really friendly and welcoming. Free parking right in front of the accommodation and 10 minutes walk to buses and trains to the city centre

The location of the property is a real letdown. It's right in the middle of an industrial area, so if you like being surrounded by industrial buildings and brothels, then this is for you, otherwise it's not so great. The hostel feels more like a halfway house than a hostel with the decor, location, and long term residents. I definitely recommend getting a private room so you have your own, more comfortable, space. The pile of scrap directly outside the window isn't great to look at.

It was clean and quiet. Owners were very welcoming and were attentive to needs and requests. Other guests were considerate and quiet.

Very welcoming staff, passionate and very local, so you feel home in a way!

Do not stay at this place. It has a terrible bed bug infestation. My friend and i have suffered from horrible bites and we were unable to get proper compensation from the property or booking.com (even though the property admitted they had a bed bug problem.)

The hostess Christine was really welcoming, and does in fact offer breakfast (if you order in advance) including cheese, egg, cold meat, various rolls and home-made jam. I had a nice room to myself with washbasin. There’s and equipped kitchen and a few cold drinks available.

The hostel is in an industrial estate about 5 km from town. Supermarket only 200m away but no restaurants. I didn’t mind that at all since I could get everywhere (old town, Reichenau) on my bike, but it might be less convenient with public transport. Some traffic noise but quite a distance away. Owner of the business seems to be somthing of a conspiracy theorist.

Nothing that I like about that place.

The room smells very bad. Keys were not working. Towels were dirty and smell bad.

Its cheaper so book this property through 3rd party than direc which is odd
