YHA Ambleside

I had a very comfortable stay overall. The standout feature is definitely the kitchen—it’s exceptionally well-equipped with ovens, hobs, and plenty of utensils. It’s much better than most hostels I’ve stayed in and kept very clean. The views from the property are also stunning.

However, there were a couple of downsides. The toilets on my floor were out of order during my stay (possibly due to misuse by other guests), so I had to walk a bit further to find a working WC. Also, while the beds are fitted with individual sockets and lights, unfortunately, none of them were working in my room. Great place, but those maintenance issues need addressing!

The location, ease of locating room, friendly staff

Loud dorm roommates (only snoring), wasn't properly informed of breakfast timings and missed my breakfast. The toilets and shower could have been kept cleaner.

Location on the lake shore is magic. Staff working hard, full of good advice. Our walk from Grasmere to the hostel had the best view of bluebells.

Room: No USB A or USB C points. ventilation non existent, window won't stay open, corridor signage to room missing, nearest shower oos, bar / restaurant full of random older males from the region. No towel or shampoo supplied, hire a towel for 3.5 GBP.

Amazing location, lovely food, and very clean room and facilities! I'd never been to a hostel before and was very nervous, but I felt safe and comfortable throughout my stay :)

The mattresses were very thin and didn't offer much in terms of support, but I did appreciate that they're the kind that can be thoroughly cleaned!

Was very welcoming and staff very helpful and polite The place was clean and tidy and the location is fantastic Me and my guests are looking too come back nxt Tuesday also if the price is the same really enjoyed it
