Tiny toilets should have mirrors

The location and view is amazing. I really struggled to sleep in the middle of the night because of a noisy guest and the staff changed my room for me no problem. Next time, I will book a private room as I think it is worth the money given the low cost - to guarentee hygeine and also noise levels, lesson learnt. The woman working behind the bar on Monday night (27/4/26) was one of the nicest staff I have ever met- she made me an amazing loaded hot chocolate. When I booked, I couldn't see the self-catering facilities listed but these were really good, cookers, fridges with loads of space, equipment -even graters/pots /pans/chopping board/knives. I ate at the fish and chip shop but the cafe/bar there has a good selection of food and drinks. It was a great spot to do hiking from- I did the Lourigh fell circular from there - though it was a few miles to join that particular route. I wish I'd have spent longer in ambleside as there was a lot going on, like bars, shops, cafes, restaurants and an art house cinema.

Dining facilities have all been changed making it difficult to move through rooms with food and no contingency to leave car in the car park beyond check out time despite using facilities and paying for items at the location anymore?

The location was beautiful and ideal base with stunning views of the lake. Kitchen facilities fantastic as were the breakfasts and sitting areas,especially outside to enjoy the views.

The double bed was very uncomfortable and the noise was terrible 9n the first night.

Wifi was only available on the ground floor.
