The hostel was in town so a great place to stay while walking the WHW. The kitchen/diner was a comfortable place to chill.

The room had no window so it was dark. If you left the bathroom door open, you had a little natural light but then the window couldn’t be left open at night as someone could have climbed through the window. There were no bed lights, only the ceiling light which meant the light couldn’t be left on if the person on the lower bed wanted to sleep. The dry room heating was only on overnight. My boots were still wet the next morning.

Really lovely staff, stayed over Easter weekend and there were free Easter eggs hidden round the hostel! We had a 4 person dorm and it was warm, spacious and came with it's own sofa area outside the room. The kitchen facilities were really good and great location!

Well placed on the West Highland way.

Other guests ruined my stay

Petite chambre dortoir pour 4 personnes propre et cocooning. Nous avons fait une réservation en dernière minute pour 3 personnes et sommes arrivées tard dans la soirée en autonomie (codes pour entrer transmis). Personnel prévenant par message et très gentil (croisé le matin).

Chambre chauffée très chaud à notre arrivée mais nous avons aéré et réglé le chauffage et c'était bon. Chambre vraiment petite en revanche, pour 3 c'était juste avec les bagages, je pense qu'à 4 c'est tendu.

The Blackwater Hostel felt as though it was at the top end of what you'd expect from a hostel. The kitchen facilities were very good and if you wanted to prepare all of your own meals that would be easy. The kitchen had all of the equipment you could need and there was a Coop Store in the village to buy your food. Also, there was a supply of things like flour and milk and quite a few other things that other guests had left. This was very handy when we were preparing our food.

There was nothing that fell below our expectations.
