Fisher-gill Camping Barn

Charming barn converted to a bunk house. Bed was comfy and and the location is great for walking. Facilities have everything you need to rest and prep for a days walking including a well equipped kitchen for storing and preparing food.

Finding it was a bit of a challenge. Coming from the south the satvav took me to a different place. A couple of signs along that road would be helpful

Bedding felt damp No plug sockets in the main sleeping room Asked to write your address in a sign in book that anyone could see (GDPR?) 2 mattress on the bed made you feel a little like princess and the pea and also that you may fall out if you rolled too far to one side!

Could not locate the camping barn, the directions on the confirmation email were poor. The address was wrong. Look for Fisher Place rather than the Stybeck Farm on the confirmation email and the roadside sign. No one able to answer the phone. Google maps did a better job, should have used it in the first place.

Comfy clean great location. Good kitchen and shower. V clean toilet. Good wood burning stove to keep the place warm

Getting up onto top bunk could be easier..I had to wear my boots while getting up/down...some actual steps or mini ladder would be easier than just footholes.. Walls to kitchen are v thin so the people who got up at 5am then were talking in the dorm and then the kitchen kept me awake.. suggest put up signs saying 'Be quiet 11pm-7pm as thin walls and people want to sleep'. Also would be good to put in ad that there is a pub near. I only found out late in the evening but otherwise would have gone there for dinner

Only one toilet for potential of 10 people Only one sink and in same location as toilet Only one shower and one you needed to pay 20p even for a cold shower very surprised by that, also relied on you having 20p in the first place.

Nice location, good facilities in the kitchen

No Internet, you need to pay extra for showers, all the rule signs (make you feel you are in a prison)... The old woman that received me not very friendly
