Eness Hostels Pondicherry

Hostel cleanliness was top notch.

Guest washroom is at the top. The stairs provided was so steep for a person to climb up there. So if they can improve that, this hostel is too good for a solo traveler

Good help with taxi before arrival with a fair price. Walkable to old town. Could hold my bags after check out.

I stayed 3 nights at this hostel, in the private bedroom. First when I arrived, there was no one at reception even though I talked with the hostel on WhatsApp a few minutes before. I waited, then tried to call the WhatsApp number I had but nothing. I started looking around and found an other number, called, and a long curly hair guy came. He showed me the bedroom which had a very intense humidity smell, the bedsheets felt wet. It's the first room near the street so very loud. I asked if there was any other rooms available but he said everything was full even though I only saw one other person in the hostel during my entire stay. I felt very uncomfortable. I understand that there was a storm a few days before that passed and possibly made the room humid but I felt only attitude and no will to help from this staff member. The room could of been aired out before my arrival and the other rooms options could of been explained even if they're shared. There's no way the hostel was full.

The common areas are perfect for meeting fellow travelers, and the staff are friendly, always ready to help with recommendations. The location is another plus, as it’s conveniently close to Pondicherry's main attractions and the beach, making it easy to explore the city. Overall, if you're a backpacker looking for a mix of comfort, affordability, and a great atmosphere, Eness Hostel is an excellent choice. Highly recommend it for anyone passing through Pondicherry!
