The host, Bev, was fantastic. I loved the architecture and learning about the history of the lodge. It was great that my dog was welcome.

Lovely place exactly what we wanted and as described. Loved the spicy cat to. Staff were very nice.

Bed was a bit firm for me but that's personal taste.

The location was good for visiting the Catlins. It was nice that a towel was included when staying in the shared dorm. The room was a decent size for 4 people and included a heater which helped keep us warm. The chickens were cute, especially the grey ones.

The lady who worked there was moody. The taps in the kitchen didn’t work properly and the bathroom was cold and full of bugs. The mattress was too soft for me.
