Newbrough Bunkhouse

Quite cozy environment that's close to major roads. Clean crisp bedding and very friendly host, I definitely recommend.

Friendly staff, good location, had everything I needed for an overnight stay. Bunks were comfortable and duvet warm on a cold winter night.

I couldn't work out how to get the heater to work so the room was a bit cold.

The property was very clean. The kitchen has a good supply of utensils. Although the rooms are located next to the main road, it was very quiet at night. The caretaker was very kind to give me a lift on my departure date.

There are no shops near the property. The pub next door ran out of food the night I was there.

Friendly host, great surrounds for walking, clear self-checkin procedure, pub conveniently next door.

A little out of the way (especially if you are walking the Hadrian's wall trail). Kitchen space is limited which could be an issue if large numbers of guests are staying but I was fortunate that I was the only guest on the night of my stay.

Location was exactly what I wanted, the place was very clean and tidy and the facilities were spot on

I know it’s a basic bunkhouse but a couple of comfortable armchairs type things in the rooms so you could relax and look at maps etc would be nice but overall I thought the place was excellent

Good, warm, clean wee bunkhouse. My only gripe is that there was nowhere to sit outwith the kitchen area, but a good, cheap option for an overnight stay. The pub next door serves food if you can’t be bothered cooking.

The hostel was the Mary poppin’s of places to stay, absolutely perfect in every way.
