location was good 200 feet off the main street..

the facilities lacked enough utensils for the guests.. only 1 eating knife for 40 guests.. girl said that was all they had and weren't replacing.. 1 cutting knife was available but that diappeared. fridge had ants in it on the day after the fridge was scheduled to be cleaned out.. bottom of fridge was full of water..supply of bottled drinking water was very sporatic. cooking oil was stored in the oven and had spilt over causing a smokey oven when cooking.. guests were forced to remove shoes if they were walking upstairs.. I couldn't remove my shoes for health reasons so they asked me to leave and refunded my money. They put sand on the main floor and of course this tracks up to the upstairs..

Great and laid back hostel, nice kitchen, free water and a social vibe. It's a great option for this price!

A slight uncomfortable smell and trash in the back of the hostel where you need to go for showers and hanging laundry.

Nice location, the facilities are basic but then again it is very affordable. Bathrooms are pretty nice, rooms are ok. The common-area are nice to just chill or hang out to meet fellow travelers, but I wish they had more seating. Staff are nice, semi-helpfull. If you are going to Caye Caulker as a solo-traveler i would choose to stay at Bella’s. Sunday funday is great!

Rooms are very basic, but are as they look on pitctures, ok for the price. The locker in my room had no back wall and was not boltet to the wall so in theory anyone could just move the whole thing and take whatever. I stayed in the four-bed so it really was no problem since we all got to know eachother pretty well and nobody else entered the room.

Water ran out a couple times and you can't drink the tap water, so it sucked

The beds were too small and too short (I am 1.83m), the outdoor bathroom had a really bad small of sewers and the reception staff were really up themselves imagining they were running a 5-star hotel or something.

I was pleasantly surprised by my stay at Bella's after reading some of the reviews, I'm not sure if they've addressed some of the negative reviews as I found there were plenty mirrors, brand new clean bathroom facilities with warm showers etc. It's a really nice place to chill in, the hammocks at the front and back are awesome. The garden backing onto the river was good to have drinks, chill in and especially after sunset is a beautiful view. I stayed in a dorm, I understand some people's concerns that a private isn't really private as the ladders are in the dorm rooms and they are balcony style but I thought the layout was cool but yeah, it's probably not worth paying the price for a private because they're not private. The kitchen was well equipped and a social space. Sunday Funday was awesome. Overall great value for money and I would recommend.

My bed was uncomfortable. There could be hooks in the upstairs bathroom and an extra clean in the evening as it was well used over the course of the day. The staff could make a little more effort to be welcoming to the guests and make them feel at ease, I do think it's on the guests to make the effort as well as over my stay I found that if I was friendly to them and made conversation they were really nice and good fun but sometimes it can be daunting as a traveller and the mood and vibe of staff can really help put guests at ease and have an even better time. Facilities better communicated at check in - there was a washing line to hang clothes but nobody knew about it.
