Super Hostel mit perfekter Atmosphäre! Es gibt viele Reisende, die für kurze Zeit vorbeikommen und für frischen Austausch sorgen, aber auch einige, die länger bleiben - eine tolle Mischung. Alle sind sehr offen und sozial. Besonders schön ist der große Außenbereich, wo man abends zusammensitzt und den Tag entspannt ausklingen lässt. Alles, was man braucht, ist vorhanden. Absolut empfehlenswert!

The three staff members and cleaning woman were awful. Main guy was rude to me from the very beginning but asked me and my friend about 4-5 times to leave a good review and even confronted me out of nowhere and accused me if leaving them a bad review. The cleaning lady threw away a whole mango me and my friend were eating for breakfast (paid 2000tenge for) and was not apologetic at all. Just pointed to the trash when I asked why she threw it out (didn’t even make eye contact) and lied that birds were eating it when I was watching from close by while I was on the phone near where it happened. Main guy confronted me in front of other guests about it which was unprofessional & after we already solved the issue (not really he just gave my friend 2000tenge but didn’t help me out or really apologize to me). He was overly nice to my friend but cold and rude to me the whole time and I stayed for a total of 8 days. I also had an almost brand new pair of hiking boots stolen which isn’t the hostels fault but sucked and some food stolen from the fridge which is annoying. The other tall receptionist girl was super rude and the short plump girl was strange and also super rude. ALSO, we booked thru booking.com on 3-4 separate occasions and all of those bookings were cancelled right after we checked in. I suspect these people charged me the extra 1000tenge (that’s supposed to go to booking.com for booking thru them), cancelled the reservation so they don’t have to pay it to booking and pocket the money which is illegal. We tried to text the hostel fire etch to make a reservation but they said it was cheaper on booking which is never the case to this confirms my suspicions of them stealing money. Also, everytime I checked in they didn’t have enough change for me so I assume they do this to everyone so they can pocket that money too (since it’s not a lot but it adds up). It’s a popular hostel, a lot of people pay in cash so they definitely should have change.

İyi bir hosel. Çok fazla gezgin var. Kendinize arkadaş bulabilirsiniz. Temizlik açısında idare eder. Kalabalık olduğundan sıkıntı çıkabiliyor.

I really enjoyed staying at this social hostel — it’s so interesting to meet people from all walks of life. Big thanks to the reception Aray and Ais team for helping me with my stay. I ended up staying here for quite a while, and I loved every moment of it.

The only downside was that the showers were sometimes busy, and there was some roadworks going on nearby. There were also a few times when the water or electricity went out, but honestly, it wasn’t a big deal.

I stayed at Almaty Backpackers Hostel for almost a week and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is very social, with great vibes that make it easy to meet other travelers. The staff are super helpful and welcoming, always ready to assist with anything. Overall, it’s a friendly and comfortable place to stay—I’d definitely recommend it!
