Cheerful Hoi An Hostel

Hien is a born hostess and runs an absolutely fantastic hostel in a good location. She welcomes her guests with incredible warmth and creates a pleasant and familiar atmosphere. She takes requests and concerns very seriously and tries to find good solutions, for example for onward travel. She has good tips for excursions and eating out in Hoi An and organized a free food tour. Almost all the guests took part and we all had a lot of fun. As a parting gift, Hien even gave me a homemade sandwich for the road. I have rarely felt so comfortable in a hostel as I did with Hien.

Love this place, could not recommend it more. The host Hien is amazing! She makes you feel like you're home, she's the best, from suggesting activities tailored to your wants, needs and planning. Also, she knows everyone in the city, which is a plus for the best deals! Hostel is also very clean, great people, amazing breakfast!!

One of the best hostels I have ever stayed in! Hien goes above and beyond to make you feel at home and was an absolute delight to chat with. If you're looking for a cosy hostel that is welcoming and sociable then this is the one. Her street food tour was also a highlight, definitely don't skip it! I can't rate this hostel enough.

We loved our stay here! Hien was an incredible host and made sure we had a fabulous time- she gave us excellent recommendations, the breakfast was delicious and she made a beautiful family lunch for all her guests. Our room was also amazing- very spacious and comfortable!

Hien was such an amazing host, gave amazing breakfasts and great recommendations on where to eat, get clothes tailored and what to do. She even hosted a family lunch with all the guests because the weather wasn't too good to do a street food tour. She would always ask how your day was and genuinely cares about making your experience in Hoi An the best it can be.

The beds were a bit too firm for me, but that is just a personal preference. The water pressure is also quite weak in the shower but nothing that isn't manageable. Was about a 20min walk from the Old Town.

Hien is so helpful with any queries and is unbelievably hard working. She made us banh my to take away for our flight. We got two private rooms as we were two couples. It was very clean and the rooms were huge had AC and they even changed bedding every day which I have not experienced in other hostels before.

I had a wonderful time in Hoi An and the Cheerful Hostel! Hien was the best host ever, so lovely, caring and helping🥰 she took us to a really good streetfood Tour and helped with tours, activities and buses. I spent Christmas there and it was the perfect place for that. Hien even organized a christmas Lunch for everybody 😍 It is a shorts 15-20min walk to the old town, but that was totally fine. One could also take the bicycles. Breakfast was sooo delicious too! 100% recomment that place!

Whether it was recommending local spots to explore, arranging activities, or simply creating connections among guests, Hien went above and beyond to create a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere. Moreover, Hien's passion for hospitality shone brightly through the delicious homemade meals and the way they effortlessly fostered a sense of community among the guests. The positive energy and camaraderie among fellow travelers made my stay truly memorable!

We were backpacking for a long time and always stayed in hostels with dorms. This was absolutely the cleanest hostel we've ever stayed in. We immediately felt at home. There are free bikes and you can be in the beautiful city in about 5 minutes. The hostel owner is totally helpful and caring. Highly recommended.
