GoSolo Stays Bandra Hostel

Absolutely terrible hospitality from both the managers! Don’t come here if you’re looking for a friendly and carefree environment. I usually don’t write reviews but thought this one is due since I lived here 8 months last year (2024) where the management was completely different and a million times better .The managers are ridiculously bias and don’t have basic human courtesy . They pick and choose , it’s absolutely horrendous hospitality from Akash and Asad . Few people from outside come here everyday and they end up staying in the hostel without paying a penny and occupying the space , whilst ruining the atmosphere. There are no free lunches in the world but there is for some people here . I even had to pay 100 Rs for the curtain on my bed! One of the guys who comes without paying, his name is Saransh , he plays the guitar well , but super annoying and sitting in judgement of everyone .The worst thing is he’s not staying in the hostel ! He’s pally with the managers ! I did even call him out to his face . If I were to call one of my friends from Bombay , they previously haven’t allowed and they wouldn’t allow in any case . They make exceptions and manipulate the rules as per their convenience. From initially looking forward to coming after a while to maybe never wanting to visit again , that’s how horrendous the hospitality was . They don’t treat people well . That’s the basics of hospitality . It’s disgusting . The cook (Jayshree aunty ) and the Nepali caretakers are sweethearts but they don’t have much of a say because they’re just merely employees .

Hospitality from the managers ; low energy , judgemental , biased . A lot of working class people , which isn’t bad per se but it’s just the vibe that’s dropping below par !

The front staff were genuinely kind, attentive, and welcoming. Honestly, the staff were the strongest and most positive part of this stay. Without them, I believe many guests would likely leave much lower ratings. Other than the staff, there was nothing particularly special or memorable about the property itself.

During my stay, the hot water and water pressure were inconsistent, making it difficult to shower comfortably. Long-term guests mentioned that this is a recurring issue. While common areas were cleaned regularly, the sleeping area felt less clean, with noticeable dust on the bed frames and shelves, and the bedsheets did not feel very fresh. The room had a noticeable damp smell, and due to the humidity etc my clothes absorbed the odor during my stay.

It was a bit of a hike from downtown. And my women's dorm was next to the kitchenette space: lots of very early morning banging and clattering.
