Jaca Hostel Funchal

I absolutely loved everything about my 5-night stay at Jaca Hostel! The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the location and interior design of the hostel are fantastic. I also really enjoyed the great atmosphere and the fellow travelers I met there. Jaca Café on the ground floor is a big bonus — especially the delicious breakfasts! I don’t usually stay in hostels these days, but as a solo traveler in Madeira, I wanted to meet people and connect with fellow hiking and travel enthusiasts. My stay at Jaca Hostel truly exceeded my expectations. The owner is a very kind and helpful lady — she recommended a wonderful Portuguese restaurant where I had an amazing Espada com Banana, a local seafood specialty. Keep up the great work! 😊

No negative feedback this time – I truly enjoyed everything about my stay at Jaca! I would happily stay there again and would definitely recommend it to friends visiting Funchal or their second location in Ponta da Cruz😊

Super Lage, nette Menschen

I booked a private room with ensuite bathroom and everything was excellent. The location is superb, right in the middle of central Funchal. The Funchal Cathedral and University of Madeira is just over the corner and the whole street is beautiful, day and night. The hostel is incredibly charming, with the nicest little courtyard that connects to the hostel's café which is open during the day. The kitchen has all the basic amenities and it is always clean. Other guests were quiet and respectful, and the staff was very helpful. Can't wait to come again.

Really fun place to stay and meet fellow travellers. The staff go above and beyond with recommendations and were very friendly. Overall I had a really enjoyable stay.

Only having showers in the room was awkward especially when most people want to go on sunrise and sunset hikes.
